Fits beautifully. One could almost imagine it used to be a barn...

Like it, but why no solar on the roof - it’s crying out to being largely self-sufficient in power, and why air-source not ground -source heat pump?
Also, too many bedrooms - I would have made the void upstairs bigger with a central rooflight extending the length of the upstairs corridor.

Yep, seems sensibly priced and a nice ‘classic’ home. Just need tonights numbers to come in now.

It is, indeed, *exceptionally* nice. I could just imagine a good few summer's evenings sitting on that veranda.

I really like that.

Agree that the bedrooms are on the small side. I'd certainly have divided the Master Bedroom wing less wastefully. Doesn't bother me much though. If you read the Grand Designs Magazine article, I think the clue is they were planning for plenty of space for grandchildren.
I wonder if it's mortagable? glulam beams exposed to the elements and rainscreen roof membrane that will be almost impossible to renew. Well at least not easily or safely.

I assume there is a door missing on the floorplan and you don't really have to go out onto the veranda to get to the sitting room biggrin

The Edwardian originality might interest some. I like the exterior and gardens but I can’t look at that bathroom pic without thinking Overlook Hotel

Surrounded by those depressing, grey boxes that they seem to do so well in Scotland.

Such a shame. Wonderful house severely compromised by its surroundings frown

Well, as usual, I'll buck the trend.

While it's too big for me, I do like it, and the location, for my sensibilities, is actually pretty good. Easily manageable grounds that offer space and privacy - although I accept that some bits of the grounds won't be THAT private - and you can still walk into town easily.

Then there's the value proposition as well.

Not perfect, and there's quite a few places in Stirling that would get the nod over that place, but I can definitely see the appeal.

This is a great one near Harpenden, a town I like a lot. Being where it is explains the asking price…

News from North Yorkshire.

This won't be everybody's cup of tea... I'm not sure it's mine but at £8million surely somebody here on PH will surely snap it up.

66 acres, 11 en suites, 22k square feet and an epic dining room view.
