well we've just picked ourselves off the floor today after our quote. Need about 18 panels doing (storm and age), already have concrete posts (though will need another 5 or so plus gravel boards) and the old crap taken away. Just waiting on another couple to quote before making our minds up. Living in the SE plus rising raw material costs etc etc meant a rather wince inducing 1500ish yikes
Thats just made me feel slightly better about the £940 quote i've just had for 10 x 6ft full panels & 4 part width panels (supply & install, East Anglia), concrete posts and gravel boards already in place and fine. (which is pretty much bang on MattCharlton91's calcs of panel + £20)

Just as an update, following storm a*sehole which took out 7 panels and managed to snap a concrete post at the base, we have decided to get the whole fence redone as it is knackered. Moved into the house 10 months ago and pretty clear the previous owner (divorced lady) had not bothered to treat or maintain it in any way for several years.

Got a quote for £6,800 for concrete posts, gravels boards and 5x6ft panels. There are 43 bays plus a pedestrian gate so equates to approx. £150/bay plus gate and includes digging out existing concrete posts (several cracked and have rebar showing) plus disposal of current panels.

There was another option for timber posts, which was just under £5K.

Quotes include VAT and we are in the Chelmsford/Braintree area.

Starts in 3 weeks.

ETA: Panels are the vertical, feather-edge closeboard type, rather than the flimsier/cheaper horizontal larch-lap style.

Morning

I've been quoted £1900 for eleven lap fence panels with concrete posts and gravel boards.
The labour is £150 per man day for two people and estimated at 2-3 days.
This is in the West Midlands.

I was thinking more along £1200??
Thread update as I need 12x feather edge panels and their corresponding posts replaced.
Gravel boards would likely live again but will likely get talked into changing them too.

I was also thinking £1200, but maybe £1900 would be a good price! Ouch.

£160 for 6ft of fence!

I have just checked this site;
https://www.garden-fence-panels.co.uk/fence-calcul...

It roughs out what you need in terms of material;
QTY 33 6ft x 5ft panels: £605
QTY 35 7ft9" concrete posts: £438
QTY 35 6" concrete rock face gravel board: £251
QTY 51 post mix £293
Delivery: £85
Total: £1674

I think the key is trying to get good people on a day rate. With an Auger and 2 people they have got to be able to get 10 posts in a day surely? Call it a weeks work for 2 people.

£250 a day for someone experienced
£150 for a labourer
£2000

Total £3674
Comparables for my 12 panel job.

12x Dipped Panels £390
12x Pres Treat Panels £460
15x Posts, inc 6 ends £215
13x Posts, in 2 ends £182
12x Gravel boards £130
20x Postcrete £100
Total materials £730-£900

Would be very happy to pay day-rate.
