You iron your bedding…?
It’s in the same category as pants and socks in our house, we don’t iron them.
Very infrequently at home - mainly pillow cases - but I also manage a three bed Airbnb property so nicely ironed sheets are a must. At times, I can have as many as six changeovers per week, which is a fk of a lot of ironing.......It’s in the same category as pants and socks in our house, we don’t iron them.

Definitely consider Bamboo. I've had so many people think I have silk sheets. They are the softest sheets I've ever found and are very, very cool in the summer. Fantastic choice IMO.

Bamboo is a good alternative with many of the tactile properties of silk, but harder wearing and less ethically questionable.
Ie, feels cheap as nasty? Any bamboo I have seen it actually just bamboo derived cellulose, feels a bit like polyester ....When I bought my house I went out and bought basically the cheapest Egyptian cotton bedding could find.
The flat sheets where a bit small for modern mattress depths and I wish I had bought the next size up (s.king for king) to allow a bit more to tuck in but otherwise over ten years on it has been absolutely great. Soft enough, but also hard waring enough, and enough stiffness to get that 'newly washed' feel the first time you get into a fresh bed.
Some of duvet covers I dyed using washing machine wash in dye as the colours where limited, this also worked well and did 6-7 years in full sun before starting to fade a bit.
I personally dont like the really fine bedding, so wouldnt worry too much about mega thread count or very costly options, but each to their own.
