Fuses tripping.

We’ve just started having trouble with the downstairs sockets tripping the circuit breaker.
It’s a 6 year old new build and hasn’t been touched.
It’s only happening every few weeks and once it’s switched back on it’s fine.
The only thing I’ve done just previous to this happening was tile the splash back in the kitchen. This involved loosening the sockets to get the tiles behind but I didn’t even remove them and they only just go under the socket covers so shouldn’t be touching anything.
It’s not tripping when anything in particular is being used, the last time it happened we were watching tv.
How do I find out what could be at fault? Is it a diy job or does it need an electrician and can it be done just by a circuit tester?
Yeah I'd check the sockets to see if there's a pinched conductor, easy to catch one with the retaining pins or against a sharp edge.
Are the sockets the only thing tripping or the thing you notice, and what is tripping - an RCD controlling several circuits, and MCB individual circuit or an RCBO individual cicuit combination breaker. Post pic if unsure.

Unless it trips of course. 
That's unlikely to be of any use whatsoever; the trip will be operating due to earth leakage, overcurrent or short circuit conditions, none of which a socket checker will give you any clue about.We had something very similar. It turned out to be a microwave which had worked absolutely fine in our previous house. However, about a couple of weeks after we'd moved into our new house the MCB kept tripping regularly. The electrician checked everything and finally narrowed it down to the Microwave. We swapped it with my sister in law and it worked fine at HER house, but I've still no idea why it was causing the electrics to trip at our place.
Put any pictures up recently? My missus did, barely nicked the neutral.
The socket was only used one a week whilst ironing, took a year to fully killed the MCB & RCB on that side of the board. Randomly tripped stuff after she had finished each time. Took the electrican a while fo find the fault, then we had to do a bit of a rewire.
