12 bore.

Don't piss around with the problem. Stop it...dead.

Contact your local gun club or a local farmer.

If you want to piss around with the problem, piss around the boundary of your garden. The fox will smell a bigger animal and should fk off.

I was told that too....Suggest 8 pints of Stella first. Stumblies home from the Pub and then take a leisurly midnight patrol of your borders whilst liberally watering.

Get a big cat.

Though you're just substituting one type of cr8p for another.

Best Way is to buy a fox trap and bait it with chicken or mackeral.

You will probably catch them.

Try: http://www.trapman.co.uk/rat-kill-kit.htm

Then you can either "terminate" them or take them far away and release in some woods. Depends on you.

Proffessional help is the easiest way but you will pay through the nose for it.

I have had several run ins with them. Terminated them first and then tried to make my garden as Fox proof as possible. 100% is not possible but make it less attractive for them. Not had any more problemns for a few years now.

Good luck.

Electric fence.

Get a big bd electric fencing unit from your local farm store.

One earth wire and one live wire about 2" apart on top of the fence. 7kV should discourage them from returning.

A similar arrangement keeps them away from our piglets.

1) How f***ing big is his garden!

2) I think having all those horses and dogs trampling over the daffodils and roses might make more of a mess than the foxes!

Good try though!

As far as the law goes you're stuck with them.

some council wallah said:
The fox is not, and never has been, classified as vermin, and the Council is under no legal obligation to exercise any form of control.

Whilst some people may consider them to be a pest, the fox is native wildlife and has been afforded some degree of protection from cruelty under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Wild Mammals (Protection) Act 1996. Poisoning and gassing foxes is in fact illegal and upon conviction, fines of up to £5,000 can be levied
Surprised me* when I found that out.

This is going to sound crazy but my colleagues who manage Parks use curry powder !!!

Foxes hate it apparently and it is the greenest and friendliest way of getting rid of them.

Get down to Tesco and give it a try

We have foxes who come into our garden to take some of the food we put out for the birds but they don't stay long and they don't damage anytihng. Could be the three large dogs we have - they scent mark around the garden....

With a 0.50 you'd be picking bits of fox off the lawn, wall, shed etc.. for months to come. Oh, and the neighbours may take offence too if the round keeps going to blows a big hole in the fence... And maybe whatever\whoever they have in the garden.
