Hi,

I'm currently renting a room in a shared house, is there a statutory notice period I have to give my landlord before I leave? I've had a look at a copy of the contract and can't see anything... Also, is it usual practice to show people the room while you still live there? I don't really fancy people coming round and casing my stuff!

Thanks smile

if you have no tenancy/rental agreement then id say no notice required, and to let other people veiw the room is acceptable, as long as he lets you know when in advance.

I had a contract for 6 months I think, and then I think technically it needs to be renewed every 6 months? Although we never have and I've been here for 3 years...

You would need to give one months notice which I think has to end on a rent day.

Your agreement should deal with them showing someone around.
