Whilst doing some bits at the side of the house, something possessed me to look up and I noticed a 3 foot long TV aerial hanging just above my landing window. I've no idea how long its been there, but I can see the coax running into a vent in my loft.

Given how windy it is, I'm quite keen to deal with it straight away - its quite possible it'll come down and either hit one of us, fall into the neighbours garden (don't know what it'll do there - they've got kids) or take out the fence.

Coax is okay to just cut straight through isn't it? I can reach the aerial (just) from my landing window, so I was going to tie some rope to it, cut the coax then lower it to the ground. I won't end up with current running down my arm if I do this will I?

You can hack away at that co-ax as much as you like.

Cheers. Thought as much, but I've made a tt of myself by relying on my piss poor knowledge of DIY in the past.

The only reason there will be power on the coax will be to power a masthead amp or similar, its only 5v and miniscule current so hack away.
