It's reckoned in some areas that cats are having a serious impact on the local small mammal population.
Often wondered about this claim. The various cats we have had over the years have brought in birds and mice and rats but not a great deal. In comparison to what we wipe out as humans, where is Tiddles in the mass extermination stakes? For example, our estate was bulldozed fields so hedgerows went etc. Tweety had no where to sleep hence our place seems devoid of birds that you would see in more established estates. Rats and mice are still brought in though.

Our two will bring in at least one animal a night, always dead.

Mainly voles and mice, but we also get quite a few rabbits, often only remains by the morning are the paws...

Worst had to be a raven that was only skull, spine and legs, only one thats made my stomach turn!!

Bells, flashy collars etc. simply do not work!

Collar with a bell about as much as you can do.

Slowly increase size of bell until the problem stops. hehe

As they do most of their hunting at night the easiest thing to do is lock them inside during the night and let them outside during the day..
Draw them back in in the evening with their nightly feed and lock them in.
