Some people here are much more polite than me, there's no way in hell I'm gonna let my neighbours dictate when I have a BBQ (I'm talking myself, wife and kids having a lunch time BBQ on a Sat, not 20+ drunkards runnings around), I'm not going to not have one because next door has a window open.

Same with DIY, if i want to angle grind in the garage for 15 mins Sunday afternoon I'll do just that. Soon we're having a mini digger round to tear up the front garden, that'll be at the weekend too.

I always knock on the neighbours door before a bbq if I notice their window is open or washing is out. They do the same with us.

Same. In some cases i've rung them and told them they had their washing out, agreed with them to climb the fence and bring their washing in for them. They joined us for a burger and a glass of wine a bit later when they came to collect the washing.

It's just neighbourly in my opinion.

Um don't know if I'm missing a Perot but nothing he's said he'd do sounds particularly antisocial to me, more just part of every day life?

It might have been a style point. New verb alert!
