I'm going to decorate my son's room, he's a 17 month toddler. However, I'm stuck for ideas. It needs to be clean, modern and very boyish.
One idea is to paint it blue with a large world map (spanning the entire wall) along one side. Alternatively, it can have Thomas, the Tank Engine wallpaper all over.
Does anyone have anymore ideas?

Have a look through this blog... http://www.ohdeedoh.com/
A world map is always a good idea though! How about one of those big felt ones with animal pieces that you can stick on?

FFS!!!! Haven't any of you lot been a child?
Children under 2 years old are not really that interested in maps of the world, and if you tried to explain it they would think they lived on a large piece of paper.
OP. What does he get excited about watching on TV? The Geography channel??? Thought not!
Have a look at what is currently running on the CBEEBIES tv channel and go from there.
Keep it simple.
Sorry for sounding a bit like a rant, but you get what i mean.
Good luck.

Certainly was 2 once, and there's no harm growing up in an environment full of information. Or of course you can sit them in front of CBBC pumping st into them all day, from which you progress seamlessly to Eastenders.... Learn by doing, exploring, asking, finding out, doing - not staring at the telly. Agree with the dinosaurs though!

Thanks for some interesting ideas. I am trying to the room in a position where I don’t really need to replace it for a good few years. Using CBBC as inspiration could result in a room that will be behind the fashion in a year or two’s time!
The IKEA map is a good idea and can span one wall and hopefully it will inspire him to great things! I’ve seen some wallpaper at B&Q which I may use for the other walls – http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detai...

If you are dead set on the map theme then this wallpaper is a better bet and cheaper than the Ikea Map. Plus as it genuinely would be the whole wall it would be more effective
