Has anyone had any experience with the folks at Kitchen Haus?
I went in there at the weekend for a quick look, and ended up staying for 40 mins with a salesman/designer. They came up with some great ideas and solutions. But for a small kitchen it was going to work out surprisingly expensive around the £10k mark, including all appliances and installation. (kitchen is about 2x3m). The quality of the units was much better than B&Q and the likes to my eyes. Also am I being unrealistic with the price that I am wanting to pay vs the quality that I want?

Just wanted to see if any of you folk had used them and what your thoughts were.
I think I will be checking out the local kitchen shop at some point this week for a comparative quote.
2x3M, do you mean two walls, with 5M of units, or do you mmean the entire kitchen is only 2X3M, in which case, what layout are you having? Galley, L shaped, U shaped?

£10K including appliances and installation doesn't really mean very much until we know a bit more about what it amounts to. What appliances, good makes or cheap? What sort of worktop, any tiling required, does it include removal and disposal of the old units?

The whole kitchen is about 2.5x3m wall to wall, its a U shape. The £10k quoted included a Neff oven, induction hob, dishwasher, and fridge. Plus all plumbing and electric work. But not flooring or splashbacks. Not sure if they would be taking the old carcasses away or not, I would hope so.

Find out about the removal and disposal, it's important. Otherwise I would have to say it doesn't sound like a bad price to me. I've no experience of that make, but if it's better than B&Q then it sounds good.

Having glanced through this thread, not one mention of bespoke. I finished a kitchen in belsize park last year, all bespoke american black walnut cabinets made to fit the space not being restricted to the "standard" sizes, parapan solid doors, all draws servo-driven. One piece stainless worktops(customer choice).
For less than 50% cost of some of the named brands that the client had quotes from....

Without the high mark ups and some thoughtful design, it can be quite cost effective

sorry for the mess in the pic..

There are at least 3 bespoke kitchen manufacturers who have commented on this thread.

But bespoke is not a 'high street' name and so not really answering the question.

I have 2 businesses - 1 a manufacturing business and the other basically distributes other manufacturers. There is no way I can make for what I can buy in and my % and sell on for!
Yes in some circumstances it may be possible but £8k does not get you far in a bespoke design where as it will pretty much get you a full kitchen from off the shelf places.

If you've got some pictures which you think would be relevant, you can upload them straight to the thread by clicking on the 'upload an image (beta)' link at the top of the reply window. The flickr pictures aren't very good, have you considered having some professional pictures taken?

Did you mean that you made the cabinets out of black walnut, then fitted parapan doors to them?

I see bespoke does not guarantee that doors line up properly

Found out that bespoke was actually cheaper, lost the will to live with Howdens, John Lewis were an absolute joke wanted £24k

ended up with this:

comlete new concrete floor laid to lay new floor on, Neff appliances , Franke sink and taps

circa £10k
