Eeee, wee baby ratties! Is mummy rat in a cage on her own at the moment? Not sure if she might need some space from the others for a bit (I know you have males and females separated already)...

Fingers crossed that all goes well, hopefully she won't have too many.

Yes she has been on her own for the last day or so away from the other girls , she is in a big tank with lots of soft bedding etc!

she has just gotten off for a drink and has about 9 babies so far! took a pic but had to be quick and didnt want to scare her with the flash!!

Do rats get spooked like hamsters so eat their babies with too much interfernce? DOn't want to be grim just cautious.

On a lighter note this is very cute and as a previous rattus owner very hard to resist saying 'baggsy me have two' I wish but really not possible right now.

Is 11 normal? She didn't look big enough to have that many in there... it's like clowns in a Mini or something!

How big are they now?

You could have fun doing a photo a day while they grow up
