I have several cats.

There are two old ladies up the road (2 bungalows next door to each other), one of whom used to have a cat, which died a year or two ago.

It has been known to me that one of our cats has from time to time been known to frequent said old ladies for pampering services.

This week however i have not seen two of our cats at all, even at feeding time, which is very unusual. Concerned for their wellbeing i decided to go and see old lady #1 and find out whether she had seen either of them recently. She invited me in (back door if you must know) and there was one of my cats, with it's own little bed, bowl of water, and a further bowl for food. The other one (apparently) was next door.

I want my cats back. I do not want to make little old ladies cry.

Pistonheads; bring forth your wisdom

Offer her sex in return for casting out your cat. Either that or accept the fact that your cat doesn't love you anymore.

This. When they get bored, they will be back, as and when it suits them

Point out that it's really not appropriate for them to be stealing your cats, and ask that they stop feeding them and remove the bed. Then you need to start paying plenty of attention to them to get them back.

Cats are total wes, they'll only have started visiting these people because they're spoiling them with whatever they're giving them.

Or, just let it go and get a dog.

Face it. Your masters have decided to replace you with two old women.

I think this is a sign that your cats actually prefer the pampering of the old ladies rather than yours. Take this as a hint!

Cats do as they please, and generally move out when they find somewhere better.
My sister had three cats, then had two cats. One of the cats moved out, as far as I can tell, because it got fed up with the noise, mess and bother of a cramped house. Now he gets his jollies with a nice old lady up the road. Inexplicably, my sister got another cat to replace him. Poor creatures (cats and sister's family).

Your cats have made their choice, I'd say you shoudl count your blessings, cat food is not cheap!

This shows how pointless cats are. They're not bothered about you, they just want food. A dog wouldn't do this. Anyway I wouldn't worry about not seeing your cats again, I'm sure these old dears will come knocking the instant a vets bill needs to be paid, so don't worry, you're still technically their owner...
Sack them off, get a dog.

Why not hire out the moggies to the old dears? £10 per pussy per week would seem a reasonable starting point for negotiations.

I'd say that was an absolute bargain.

A small furry machine used by some people to cover their lawn with barely concealed lumps of st and pieces of dead rodent intestine.

Get a dog. I even found you one. This guy needs a home:

Proper PH dog, powerfully built, he wont be running off with any old ladies, if you ask nicely he might eat the stupid cats and everyones a winner.

A dog is not a viable alternative to a cat.

Dogs are pathetic needy things and whilst I can see why feeble-minded people (ie those in need of constant reassurance that another living thing on the planet loves them) may wish to have one hanging about the house, i'm generally ambivalent towards other people's dogs and have no desire to possess (for that is the correct term) my own.

So stop all the silly dog nonsense.

Says the tt who's just lost his "pets" to two old biddies up the road.

A dog would never do that to you - and if it did you could shoot it. Legally.
