I have a 11 week old pup i want to toliet train.
He sleeps in the kitchen at night and i put paper dowm for him.
He will wee on the paper but not do a no.2.
I move the paper to were he does his no.2 and he will then do it some were else.
So i was wondering if any ph dog owners could help me please.

The obvious answer would be to carpet the entire kitchen with paper. Another suggestion would be to go along the crate training route, which I will be doing shortly. Pup is contained in crate overnight with their bed and an area of paper. Dogs will instinctively try not to dirty their sleeping area so if you are dedicated enough to take it out often, including in the night if you want housetraining to be as quick and painless as possible. Make a fuss when pup plops outside and reward with a treat too. Otherwise with the paper route, you would want to move the paper towards the door and eventually into the garden to encourage pup to do it's business outside.

+1 for the crate training method. Take the puppy outside regularly and praise him when he goes to the toilet. Also if you hear him crying during the night while he is in the crate, take him out. A late night walk also helps.

Did you put the paper down and expect him just to know to use it?

Paper training can actually confuse a pup and we paralyse suggest it as a toilet training method these days.

Crate training definitely worth considering along with consistency and lots of praise but no punishment.

Take him out after every meal, every play session, every sleep, every time he sniffs the floor and as soon as he is successful outside give him praise and a treat (don't wait until he's back indoors, go out with him and treat immediately) If he goes indoors ignore him and just clean it up. He'll soon learn toileting outside is more rewarding!

Do not be slack. Even if you think he's got the idea carry on being on the ball for a while after. Pups relapse if training stopped too quickly.

And. I'd be tempted to remote the paper over next few days.
