Right, search not working so maybe/probably a topic...

Looking at getting a chicken and a duck or 2.
Not the biggest garden but it is enclosed and the 'runs/houses' look pretty good.

Have you got any and what are your experiences?

Thanks...

Mrs H keeps mentioning this as well, we've got a fair bit of space and a pond so maybe ducks would make sense but we are out in the country so foxes etc would no doubt be keen on popping over for dinner.

Any info or suggestions appreciated.

We have a small farm and have had ducks and about to get some chickens. Ducks are fantastic. we did not have a pond or natural water so we used a trough for them to clean and bathe in. They seemed very happy wondering around the fields shouting their heads off and eating us out of house and home. They can be trained to a certain extent and actually make fairly good pets and the eggs are fantastic. We had Mr and Mrs Duck for about 6 years before the fox got them.

We have just built a brand new chicken coop and are looking at getting some ex battery hens. Anyone have any experience of these?
