Chew proof dog bedding
Discussion
Seems our huskey/lab cross has kept the huskey ability to chew things. Stupid thing is its only her or our Labs bedding, tried all sorts since she was a pup (only 11mo now) quilted beds, old towels/blankets, paper etc etc. She just rips it to bits then looks at you with her sad Lab eyes when she has to sleep in her plastic basket (which she doesn't chew) with no bedding, she even shoehorns herself in with the Lab to get on the soft bedding (Lab isn't stupid, she likes her comforts & likes a quilted doggy bed)
So anyone have any suggestions for chew proof mat/bedding?

don't think it is bordom or exercise issues, and it is just her bed, nothing else. Wifey reckons its because she was born in a bed made from shredded paper LOL
thats so the sort of reasoning Id come out with!!!!!!!! lol our old GSD shredded duvets and padded beds, it seemed to be the white fluff she liked more than anything, we swapped for some fleece blankets and she never chewed those!
Our pup has chewed through hundreds of pounds worth of beds...
As Mubby said, I think it's the white padding inside them - she's got about sixty million blankets instead of a bed now, which she doesn't chew.
I notice that yours chews everything bedding-wise, though, which might indicate a little bit of boredom when in "bed"? You could try increasing the level of aerobic exercise, decreasing the amount of time in her bed (unless this is all overnight, of course!), and leave chew toys with tasty fillings in her bed as a "chew distraction" for when she is in there?

its during the night (12-7am) You can leave toys/chews the works with her, she only chews the bedding. Tired an old towel last night, its a pile of rags now LOL so its not just the stuffing she was after (of maybe she thought the towel had some in it somewhere LOL) Need to find an old heavy canvas tarp to try next.
That's odd!
I'd still be tempted to run her ragged (see what I did there?!) during the day, so that from 12-7am, she's sleeping... rather than being awake to chew.
Like I said, our pup loved to chew her bed... but she's flat out by about 9pm these days, in our efforts to not spend millions on dog beds.
On her side, snoring like a good 'un... sometimes even by half 8, even though she naps during the day...
...failing that, an old tarp would do the trick - something that'll take her a little while to shred

hmmmmm.... would putting a soft canvas type muzzle on her at bedtime be cruel? just for a week or so so she realises the bedding is actually lovely and warm? and maybe she would forget to chew it once you took the muzzle off?
another thought, how is she with carpet? could you cut out a piece and put in bottom of her bed? or use a doormat or similar?

You're too soft with it, it doesnt really need anything fluffy to to sleep on.
I'd like to see you say that to our little pup, when she's telling you that her poor little naked tummy gets super cold when she lies on it on the cold, cold floor, and that blanket over there is a bit too scratchy for her, and she doesn't really like it, so please can she have a different, softer one? Pretty please?
We've got a huskey/lab cross too and have had no problem with one of these:

he has chewed the handles and the pop-on cover but the mattress is untouched.
