We got a great show this week - can anyone identify the bird of prey? Kite?

its not a buzzard as they are about 3 times the size of a pigeon

I love the plucking circle. Sat on the pigeon, plucked it then ate it.

Wow! A Peregrin? That's town centre Berkshire - how cool.

I knew it wasn't a buzzard - used to have those where I grew up - Fooking massive birds.

Pergrines quite often nest on tall buildings, sometimes in boxes supplied for that purpose. Churches are often keen to keep pigeons away.

The one in your picture looks a little on the rare side.

Another couple of minutes cooking needed I reckon.

Ish. Numbers are improving, though, I believe. We had some where we were before on the Wiltshire Berkshire borders. With practice one can distinguish their noises, something between mew and whistle.

We could do with a couple in the Farnborough area. I'm fed up with pigeons attacking our bird feeders.

I've seen the odd sparrowhawk in this area but never a falcon.

Having reviewed the available evidence, Mrs SC (from whom I obtained the information originally) is inclined to agree.

I think he was just being a 'clever' pedant due to the absence of an e in my spelling.
