He's about a year old now, an 8 stone german shepherd, pedigree papers all present...

Still has floppy ears, do they pop up at any time or is he resigned to look like a teddy. grumpy

Well my guess would be no then....

Do his siblings have correctly set ears?

All dogs are 'tards.

They just each have their own way of showing it. smile

Half and half, but that was a long time ago I saw them, he was a police dog under training, failed for not having enough agression.

Just wondered if such a thing exists, a GSD with floppy ears irked

One of the things that breeders will reject a dog for is floppy ears.

Looks like a cutie.

Our current (rescue) GSD is 10 and I have never met a less aggresive dog. Definitely a bad advert for the breed hehe

very much so and very sadly (IMO) some owners seem to think this is a challenge to their own masculinity so go and get them pinned up and all sorts..... (I base this all on some documentary I saw about 3 years ago..P/Heads...real knowledge rules biggrin)

He looks different smile in a good way.

Don't be hard on him for being "Speshial".

My brother's German Shepard had a floppy ear for a few years - IIRC 4 or 5 years. Eventually it straightened out of its own accord.

Well then it sounds like it is a dominant gene issue and he's got the "bad" copy.... Still, I think it makes him look cuter.

He really is a smasher, and daft as a brush. Aggression? Absolutely none at all, definately a bad advert for the breed hehe

I'd much rather have a teddy of a pup than an aggressive dog any day... by the way, he looks great!

I have the opposite issue. I have a pedigree smooth fox terrier who's sister was best of breed, but he has pricked ears and they should be dropped.

Maybe we can do a swap?

Thanks Lippitt, he's certainly a character. My daughter wants his ears to stay down, says he's a big teddy irked

Dont know about alsations, but certainly on Smooth fox's, the ears issue is usually decided around teething time.

Certainly when we got Milo he had drops, but as he teethed, then he went pricked and became a 'tard.

I give you the 'tard...

And the standard model...(sadly lost from us a few weeks back)
