Sad morning...

Last night my old cat passed away. He's been on his way for a while and in the last week or so been behaving odd, sleeping in strange places etc. Then last night made a big fuss of both me and the dog (always freaked the dog out when he did that) before curling up in his favorite spot (hadn't been there all week), didn't move all evening and I had a feeling it was the end. He'd gone this morning.

When I picked him up and wrapped him in his favorite blanket, the dog came over to see what was going on. He wasn't happy and very uncertain; Approached slowly and kept jumping back, almost barking. Then I uncovered the cat and let him have a look. He had a sniff and gave it a nudge with his nose and stood back... then very gently took the corner of the blanket in his front teeth and carefully covered the cat up again!

That's the way I want to go. Cheer up you have all those memories to look back on. I know it's hard as I've been there with tears in my eyes but I always smile at the good times past.
