One of my cats once brought a live rat into the bedroom and let it go, it then couldn't catch it. No problem says I so I let our two Jack Russells loose. It was like a scene from the fking Benny Hill show, two Jacks, two cats and my wife all running round in a line chasing the rat round the bedroom and landing.

hehe

Would have made a good video. I expect the rat worked at the local greyhound track. Did I tell you the one about the rabbit on a motorbike?

I'm thankful we don't get 'presents' from our cat! We used to have 2. Now got one. This one doesn't bring in dead animals thank god, though he did hunt one a few weeks age when we were eating dinner outside in front of us yikes

Why was the rat wearing stockings and suspenders?

Ours is just weird. He brings in worms, spiders and the occasional dragonfly.

Is this normal???!

Pah, any cat worth the name will bring in seagulls, dogs, confused schoolchildren and various zoo animals exceeding 20kg.

No but actually, I've had mine for about 7 years and all she's got in that time (that I know of) is two birds and a mouse.

Ours like to share their kills with us also. Even to the extent of providing a fresh lunch for me at work! Yup, got to work, put hand in rucksack to get sandwiches out, lo and behold, a live mouse. I was bemused, took it outside and let it go in the bushes and felt sad that it wasn't going to see its family anymore as it was far from home. Mind you, at least it was alive....

We've had all sorts brought in, but the pork chip wrapped in cling film is still a highlight, along with the headless squirrel on the router.

based on experiences with my 3 year old cat, a 3 year old cat should be able to:

clean itself
meow when hungry
take an interest in playing with toys
catch and decapitate small mammals
catch small birds
will have killed its first zebra/horse.

it will be starting to:

bring down deer or wild boar
stuff their heads for its trophy room
erect zip wires to assist with squirrel hunting
notice whether you eat the presents it brings you or not, and react appropriately.

Looks like one of those filigree Siberian hamsters. I would call it Basil.

The best so far I've had from mine was a live bat!

Other than that, the usual collection of vermin, amphibians and birds.

Yeah because that's a regular occurrence eh!?

Just last week I had 12 posts removed because people moaned they didn't want to see Rover shaking Tiddles around like a rag doll!
