Been lucky with ours, no foxes in sight around a well fenced garden. You can`t protect from helicopters however.
The chickens roost in a tree in their enclosure. A helicopter went over very low last night and seems to have spooked a little Silkie. She fell from the tree and landed in the duck pond below. Chickens can`t swim so the poor old girl ended up a little cold and stiff this morning. She is currently now roosting in the dustbin, god bless.

They don't kill without reason. They do it to then take the prey away and hide bits of it all over the place so they can retrieve it later. It's a complete myth that they just kill for the sake of it.
