My 16 week old pug has had pretty bad runs for around 48 hours now, the vet can't fit him in till tomorrow. Is there anything I can do in the mean time? He hasn't been given any food but I'm making sure he drinks plenty,

The vet doesn't think it's anything serious she has a pup from the same litter, but ideally I'd like to be able to stop it before tomorrow!

It could be nothing. Have you changed the food your pup is used to?
What we do is
No food for 24hrs then small amounts of cooked chicken and rice to see if all is well before resuming
normal feed.

Is that when you see firm stools?

Once he is back to normal everything should firm up. Make sure water is always availiable to stop dehydration.
The chicken and rice is light and easy on the stomach, as you reintroduce solids. Bit like us eating dry toast.
