Can it cope with 5 cats? What happens if one cat does a really runny poo?

No, I think they say one unit is good for up to 2 or 3 cats. If you've 5 cats sharing one box currently then you /might/ be ok. But I don't know about that. I can tell you that my two are ok with the one unit.

Runny poo? Erm, well if it's really runny then I guess the wash cycle will take care of it. It fills the bowl with water and detergent and scrubs the particles 3 times over, then it dries itself. So I'd imagine the runny poo would get washed away during this process.

Really hard poo is more difficult to deal with, which is why they recommend you use "cat activation mode" which basically starts a cleaning cycle after each use. (It has sensors to know when a cat is in there) It has an adjustable delay, to run a cleaning cycle either 10min or 30min after vacation. That way the poo is dealt with before it gets too dry and hard. Because there's a "musher" in the back which smashes it up so it can go out the pipe.

I've three litter trays that get cleaned 2 or 3 times a day each. Guess I'd need two of them but they seem reasonably bulky and moreso where I'd site two of them.

One would easily go in the bathroom but the other I'd struggle with to get the services it needs to a room.

Might have to go back to thinking Litter Kwitter frown
