Anyone else noticed that when they go out in snow, they re-use their previous tracks... really deliberately and cafrefully. Fascinating smile

Don't think mine have ventured out, they are either going out at night or crossing their legs very tightly. Think I might need to put a litter tray down as I'm certain they haven't been frown

My kittens aren't. They just bounce around the garden. But then again they will also quite happily sit around the garden when it is bucketing down.

But they are only out for about 20 mins in the morning then they stay in the rest of the day.

That's amazing!

I love these little inbuilt instinctive traits our pets have. I remember once as a lad, I had a pet Iguana (strange boy). I chucked him in the bath to see what would happen - this is a creature that's never seen more than a tray of water before...

Swam like a crocodile! Using his tail for propulsion. Didn't miss a beat. I was amazed.

Our lad rather enjoys the snow. He certainly doesn't stick to his previous tracks, in fact he seems to rather enjoy going in the fresh stuff.

Carter loves the snow...was chasing snow flakes last night, and refused to come in for 24 hrs!

My little bugger has been out in the snow for the last 2 days, we thought we'd lost him and were preparing for the worst, then he strolled in this afternoon shouting FEED ME. Not sure where he's been but he never strays for more than a few hours normally.

Smudge is a 'lane discipline' cat. She will follow the tracks she has previously used. Whitey, however, is a pranced, jumping about quite happily in the fresh stuff, and swiping, patting, and leaping at bits of snow.

Cats are all different - we have 2; 1 who will happily go out in all weathers, the other hates rain and if you can get her out in the snow, she most certainly retraces her steps...

Repost but here's my Ryu a while ago testing out the snow for the first time.

Guzzi hates wind and rain, but likes snow, other than the cold, so he tends to still go out, but not for so long.

Minnie's Loving it. Does not like the Ice though. Three legs and slippy ground does not work for her.

Megan hates going out in the snow; sometimes she needs to be encouraged to go out and do her poos with a friendly toe up the bum.

Our two are chalk and cheese where snow is concerned. One avoids going out at all costs, the other goes out and then goes berserk in the unspoilt snow, trying to mess it up as much as possible. She certainly doesn't stick to existing tracks!

In and out through her new (expensive) cat flat like a yo-yo but not all that pleased with the snow. Like looking at it and skirting around the deep bits but overall seems displeased. Spending most of the time sitting under the garden table glowering when she's out.
