I used to be allergic to cats and dogs but discovered that repeat contact with a specific animal stopped me being allergic to that animal and hence we now have 2 cats that I am fine with.
Get your OH to try and take piriton or something for a month and see how you get on.
Strikes me that your average person would far rather adopt from the cats protection league than help you out with what we don't really perceive as an issue

Try Bristol and Wales cat rescue, lovely group but very busy, they have a website.
Thanks for that - left them a message - hopefully they have some space for him!

That you are looking after the cat as we speak but would rather have a puppy.
That's how you come across I'm afraid.

Sorry I cant really tell if your being serious, retarded or just trolling?

If you haven't read anything of the past posts - Quick summary is ... its not our cat, its a stray and we dont want to keep it? So unless you have aspergers - your view of "how we come across" is dumb.

Yet Im not the first one who has implied it on this thread so we must all be retarded (are you an American child?), dumb (are you saying that we are mute, or are you an American child?) or we have aspergers.
Alternatively, you come across as though you cant really be bothered with the cat and want others to be bothered with it to save you the hassle.

If you going to criticise anyone it should be the person who dumped the poor cat in the first place not the OP. I think you have the poor attitude on this one.

The OP is trying to do the right thing by finding a permanent safe haven, this is hardly not bothering, they are doing exactly what everyone who starts a thread on here, seeking advice/ help. they should not be forced to take on a cat if they prefer not to, that is their choice! (Though would be lovely if they did smile)

No, no I am pretty sure its only you who is retarded.

Seriously what the fk are you reading – no one else has implied anything like what you have suggested or come to the same random moronic conclusions as you have. If you honestly think they have then you clearly have a few issues.

As for not being bothered with the cat – if you were able to sensibly process what you were reading you would know I have been very bothered with the cat and have been trying to find it a new home.

I could save my self the hassle very easily and simply ignore its welfare, spray it with the hose, get the farmer next door to shoot it (and he has offered!) or just do what its original owners did an dump it across town and leave it to someone else – yet I am trying to find it shelter.

Its not my cat and we dont want a cat - its fairly simple.

You don't half talk bks.

Troll.

It's quite simple he doesn't want a cat, he wants a dog. He didn't ask for a cat, it's just turned up, it's nice when people adopt cats that just turn up but he is under absolutely no obligation to do so. You are being an arse trying to make him feel guilty about it.

And what have done so far and are trying to do is admirable.

However, as far as the cat is concerned, you are it's new slave as it has chosen to honour you with this highly regarded position.

The problem you have is that CPL etc are full, and you have admitted to them that you are looking after it. You need to catch it (trap it in your garage) and then call them to collect a stray that has been abandoned and you are scared for it's well being as all your neighbours have dogs that hate cats.

Alternatively, keep on as you are, make it a cosy nest in the garage/shed and get the Puppy. The cat will either move on when the dog arrives (choosing a new slave as the old one suddenly no longer met his requirements) or like the Pup & stay. In which case you continue as you are.

When it gets cold/wet and it breaks into the house, dose your wife up with antihistamines (you can get a liquid for kids you can put on her food wink), and everyone is a winner biggrin

Angry aren't you?
Can you actually string a sentence together without spitting out insults?
Fact is, if you had said from the outset that you have no interest and don't want it instead of making half-baked excuses about getting a puppy then I wouldn't have mentioned it.
Never mind though. Good luck with your cat

No I am not angry – you are just very irritating and talk complete drivel. That’s probably not the first time someone has told you that - is it?

What part of me trying to find a new home for a stray cat implied that I was interested in keeping it? I think that was a fairly obvious conclusion for most NORMAL people.

The only thing that’s half baked is you – lay off the drugs! Bandwidth thief.

Thanks to everyone else for taking the time to put forward useful suggestions!

He did say from the outset that he had no interest; in fact the first 3/4 paragraphs are dedicated to telling us what they have done to rehome him before we find out why they cannot keep him.

To be fair, I can appreciate the frustration that he expresses in his reply to you, he's asking for help and is not getting it from you; he's not had it from others either but that has been in obvious jest - sometimes your wit is a bit too clever to come over as it is meant when it is read (IYKWIM)

That the only thing I bothered reading.
What happens next? Is it straight to bed or do we have to do some more stuff in between?

So what with me being the cold hearted bd I am; After a lot of searching I finally found the stray cat a new home. He has gone to a nice family in the next town over. I dropped him off last night and he took to his new owners very quickly and them promptly made himself comfortable for the night - I suspect he will be spoilt rotten !

My conscience is now clean!
