Jesus HOW MUCH? is that really the price of puppies these days?
British Bulldogs puppies, yes. There are some advertised on the net for £2k+ too. Rescues that are young and in good health are nearly non exsistant, so your only choice is a unknown advertised adult or puppy. I did a lot of investigating suitable breeds for us and bulldogs came up very highly, but the cost and puppy only option meant we didn't go down that route... I seem to remember something similar. At least 1000 euro (and the pound was at 1.5 back then).
It's worth spending more on the initial investment though. I didn't do my research properly before buying ours from a puppy farm and during his life he had ALL the things possible; cherry eye, regular ingrowing eyelashes which caused corneal ulcers (since bulldogs don't feel much pain, he didn't show signs of these until they were already pretty bad), torn cruciate ligaments (€1000 per leg, no pet insurance here), seasonal alopecia, fungal infections in the nose folds, ears and paws, problems with sensitive paw pads and some grasses, arthritis, etc etc the list went on. I wouldn't change anything but it's worth investing in a puppy where you know the history.

Yes there not the cheapest breed. My daxi cost us £600 (kc) 12 years ago. Now £1200 minimum. Bully's don't take to breeding too well apparently, which may be a factory !!?? They are also a breed that have lots of ailments if not bred correctly. Again I have wanted a bully for over 25 years and have many books so it's well worth knowing the family history and the breeder. The breeders know this (not a negative) so there is a premium for the right pup. Already been said but worth spending the extra up front as it MAY cost you in the long run (and heartache) and stop people breeding poorly dogs.
Yep- as said that is the going rate- our Winnie was £1800 3 years ago- non dog people go mental when you say that! Her hypoallergenic food is also bloody expensive but as the breeder said- you wouldn't put supermarket petrol in a Rolls Royce haha.
The colouring sounds nice please get some pics up when you can! Knowing the breeder and the pup's parents are all important factors.
Off to bed now- French bulldog meet tomoz in regents park at 2pm!

Nearly all bulldogs need caesarians and bulldog mums are clumsy in the early days so do squash pups, so this explains some of the cost but it's also due to demand. All I can advise is the parents are not completely flat faced and front legs are not too bowed also they should have straight backs (at one time they were bred so their back legs were higher than there front! These were often show winners)

Is no one going to quiz me on his name !!??
Tbh I got too distracted by the cute pics to note his name, except to know it's the same as a character from Only Fools. It's a good name, so go on, why did you choose it ?Boycie has just turned 5 weeks old so should be another 3 weeks. He is already on sloppy solids and if the breeder is happy she may let him go in 2 weeks. As we are literally a 5 min walk away we have visiting rights every weekend until she is happy to release him !! We are happy to wait but the sooner the better
