Anti scratch spray for cats

Any recommendations, some of the herd have taken to scratching the sofa and are pulling it to pieces.

We used a water squirter - the flower misting variety - when ours started doing this. Haven't needed to use it for years. It was either that have the suite tastefully re-covered in steel plate

Lots of shouting then a better cat nip infested post and pad away from the settee. Still the odd bit of yelling but a rope one seems to have done the trick once they got heir scent into it.
