My Priya got run over tonight, and she didn't make it.

Very upset.

Her brother, Raj, seems to be okay - he smelled her for a minute or so, and then wandered off.

We're about to move house to a quiter road - she would've loved it.
sorry to hear that frown

Thanks for everyone's words. It really means a lot.

This is the two of them in November - she's at the bottom, although neither one were particularly awake!

It's actually the second time she's been run over - the first time she went into shock, but recovered on the way to the vets (no apparent injury). She later lost her tail (no idea what happened to her).

I was hoping she'd learnt the first time...

That's why I won't let mine out, at least not without a leash. I just fear they'd wander off and get blapped on the road outside.

So sorry for you

I wouldn't like him jumping out at me in the dark, whatever type he is he's stunning (assuming he is a he)

Aslan on the day he arrived, two years ago.

Totally laid back.

Now around 14.

very interesting, the frog gave me ambivalent feelings of sadness and happiness, what a strong cat and glad people out there to help.

Meet Charlie.

We already have 2 rescue cats, Murphy who is nearly 20 and Jess who is about 5.

For months my wife has been badgering me to get another cat and I relented on the weekend.

She had specific requirements though. She wanted the 'worst' cat in the cats home who had been there the longest and overlooked by adopters and that was Charlie (named Fitz by the cat home).

He's around 9 years old and has been a stray almost all his life. An elderly lady took him in but already had several other cats and dogs and couldn't cope.

His teeth were in pretty bad shape and some of the rear ones had to be removed but he seems in pretty good shape now.

He seems a very laid back and friendly cat and hopefully can now live out his days in safety and comfort.

We pick him up tomorrow night.

Those were exactly the criteria we had when we took on Gordon from the RSPCA. He had been there by far the longest and nobody wanted him. I have no idea why as he was the sweetest and and most inoffensive cat on the planet. Sadly no longer with us as he was taken by cancer in 2013. But then came Gary... another black and white DSH, also the longest resident at the RSPCA that nobody wanted. A real character.

What is it with people and black and white cats? They always seem to be the ones that are hardest to re-home.

I'll post a couple of pics later.
