I bet she won't use it for her kittening, she'll probaly give birth in your wardrobe or under your bed etc, then keep moving them when you try and put them in there!!

How old is she? hope it all goes smoothly. I think you are mad but each to their own smile....I know you will have done your research, sadly I deal with too many that allow their female cats to get pregnant then not want to deal with the consequences frown
I've made contingency plans. She's on restricted room use, there are old blankets and towels under beds and plenty of soft cat pyramid beds and suitcases with blankets in around the house.
She's a year old. I'd rather she was older but she's being well cared for and the kittens are pretty much all ear marked for homes with people I know. If anyone changes their mind they'll soon have a huge chattery the runs from the dining room out of the French doors in to my peaceful white garden where they can all live happily ever after.

Walter has agreed to be neutered in the coming months.

smile. In the meantime keep him well away. She will be ready to mate from when the kittens are 6 weeks old.

He will still be potentially fertile for at least 6 weeks post castration.

Good luck with it all, (I assume you don't actually know how many kittens she is having though) look forward to cute kitten pics in the near future thumbup

Thank you for that advice. I'm planning on booking him in in the next couple of weeks. So hopefully it'll all tie in. She has her own space for when needed though.

I work in a couple of GP surgeries and with different clinicians inc Physio and Midwifery. I have suggested I take her in to work for an examination. No one seemed keen. Spoken to my vet a couple of times and they didn't really seem concerned. I asked about an ultrasound but they said they only really perform them if there are any complications? And unless I had any major concerns (which I don't) then she didn't need to be seen.

We've been feeding Frida smaller and more frequent meals. Little extra cooked Chicken and some fish etc as well as some kitten milk (to be honest all the cats have been enjoying the extra treats!). She's happy, no signs of constipation or any other upset. By my calculations she's possibly due next weekend. Which coincidentally is my eldest son's birthday. He's getting first pick.

I do hope it all goes ok for her. I'm beginning to get the pre-natal worries. Providing everything does, there will be kitten picture overload.

Newbies are settling in nicely.

MIllie picked up a scratch on her nose as Mitzi (our older girl) established the chain of command.

Dressing Table ornaments tonight

Frida has always done this weird mimic (Predator like) chirrup when she hears me cough or sneeze. Finally managed to video her doing it this weekend!

Bit of an update.... this ones still alive! We've called her Phoebe for the purposes of the vet, but Phoebe is only a mangled extension of her real name.... Fluff-Butt. She has a very fluffy rear end!

After a while stuck inside we gradually began letting her out into the back garden. We live in a quiet area, no main road out front and we back on to a hillside with a small wodded area. Neighbors either side have similar, quiet gardens and a lot of other cats make use of the gardens on their rounds. So there is always something interesting for her to get on with when outside.

She's been for quite a few long wanders, but now seems quite happy with what is beyond the house and now stays mostly in the garden and is constantly running in and out to tell us all about it.

I have never in my life met such a chatty cat. Constantly flapping her chops at us and making grumbling and chirruping noises. And every night (and morning) the routine is for standing on us, extreme purring and kitty-massages (usually knitting my full bladder every morning!). Absolute nutter.

So... we have a racist cat.

As you'll have seen from my photos, we adopted 2 young sisters, one predominantly white, one predominantly black.

Our existing, predominantly black, cat has accepted the new predominantly black cat, but still hisses and growls at her predominantly white sister.

Whilst it's not an ideal situation, I do find it quite amusing.

We had to put down one of our cats a few weeks ago (posted a few pages back). The house has been very quiet, and our remaining cat has been very lost.

Today we collected "Sparkles". She's pretty much the runt of the litter and still very nervous about her new home. We're not introducing the cat and kitten quite yet. I'm sure it won't be long before she goes into kitty high-jinks mode.

This is smudge, I think I posted a pic of him as a kitten earlier in the thread.

He was a yard cat at the garage that my OH worked at, we brought him home before he got flattened as he liked to sleep in front of car wheels!

This picture was taken moments after he discovered he could turn off the Xbox with his nose. I love him, but he is an asshole. hehe
