How are they doing Gretchen?
Ooh I was just in here replying to the above. So whilst I'm here... We had a vet check yesterday, all healthy and now 'officially' sexed. Started weaning last week and they are all eating small amounts of wet food, drinking water and using the litter tray. Taken yesterday:
Private Dancer is, as suspected, female
Samsquantch is definitely male
Gary (ete) Laser Eyes, I wasn't sure so of course she's female
And Rorschach is, as I thought, male
They were a bit of a hit with another family in the waiting room, the wife falling for Rorschach, then begging her husband to let her have another cat! He didn't look amused whilst his 6 month old male kitten sat scowling in his cage.
Picked this little basket up in the charity shop at Woodgreen Animal Shelter in Godmanchester on Wednesday for £5. It was ideal for the little ones.

I've found cats can sometimes take no time or a long time to get on with strangers. Ladies worse than chaps generally.
Such is life.
That's true. Last year I ended up with two refugees (from a near neighbour) that started off hating each other and stressing each other out. Two months later and they were touching noses and generally getting on. I didn't do anything special, I just tried to give them time and space and didn't force them to do anything.Such is life.
Maybe it just takes time. It's just a bit sad when they don't get on. I guess it's just nature.

Try some Feliway plug in diffusers. Amazing stuff. Chills cats right out.
I've also read that peppermint extract can be used on cats to calm them down, apparently its in the same family as cat nip and if put onto the 2 cat's fur masks each others scent/calms them down!"Peppermint extract can also be used if properly diluted. Use approximately one-quarter cup of a carrier oil such as jojoba or olive and a few drops of peppermint extract. This mixture can be used to deodorize a cat, but be very careful to keep it away from any mucus membranes. You’ll only need the smallest amount of your mixture, and only apply it to the fur. If you can smell peppermint on the cat from three feet away, then you’ve used too much for the comfort of your cat."
Edit: not peppermint oil - that's apparently toxic if ingested!
