Black and white cats are ace

Does anyone have a black cat? I love black cats. But the lady at the cat sanctuary said nobody wants them, which I found heartbreaking.

I was in France last year and the hotel had a black cat. The lady said they may have to get rid of it because a lot of the guests were superstitious and thought it might bring bad luck

Apparently they are really hard to rehome.

Yes they are the hardest to re-home. Not sure if it's due to silly superstition or they're not considered pretty enough, maybe both. The striped ones - gingers and tabbies, are the most popular with re-homers.

Can't say Minnie is lucky but she is a character! She lost her front leg we suspect in a a new build somebody was putting up behind us. £2500 later she remains a character and no cat crosses her garden without inspection or seeing off.

I've always loved Black cats and Felix our previous black and white was equally characterful. As for superstition. In Europe a black Cat crossing your path is lucky. Only in the USA is a black cat unlucky. A Legacy of the religious culture of the original settlers.

Weaning off Mum now so this a few and far between. Usually just the odd one or two but this morning after 16 paws woke up, spent an hour thundering and chasing each other around, under and then over! my bed before finally curling up together in their basket for a rear, Frida eventually came to the rescue. All this before 8am. Cats. No concept of the weekend.
