RIP my beautiful TicTac. 17 is a good innings. We’ll miss you every day.

Home was far too quiet...

Introducing Branston, bengal/shorthair cross. You really do like to chatter.

And a playmate, Mr Tumnus is due in a couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear about TicTac frown

I always find it odd how some kittens manage to perfect the art of looking actually quite ugly, whilst still being utterly adorable. cloud9laugh

Picked our two new kittens up this afternoon. Wasted the rest of the afternoon watching them explore.

Then they got tired.

Not settled on names yet, we're still working on it.

Saw on Facebook that someone in Aylesbury has reported that their cat has been killed, MO similar to that of the M25 Cat Killer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M25_cat_killer

SNARL have confirmed that Leo was a victim frown as was a rabbit in Reading frown

If you have cats and you're on FB or Twitter, you should follow SNARL - he's not just attacking within the M25 anymore, he's killed in Surrey, Essex, Berkshire, Kent, Hertfordshire, Brackley in Northamptonshire, Brighton, Maidstone, Manchester, Birmingham and the Isle of Wight.

https://www.facebook.com/South-Norwood-Animal-Resc...

And several in Sussex, but Sussex Police are not being co-operative, which makes it a bigger target for pooboy. If you have friends in Sussex with cats, advise them to keep them indoors at night!

Edit: do not approach, just call police. This is a very general description which could fit any number of people. It will not make you a hero or do you any favours if you harm someone innocent. We reiterate: call police if seen in a situation as described below.

If you see a man in his 40s, white, with short brown hair, between 5'8 and 5'11', average build, possibly with some acne scarring to his face, dressed in dark clothing, with or without a torch, trying to coax cats with a toy or feed them or looking or entering gardens, please dial 999 quoting Operation Takahe and then also call us on 07957 830490 or 07961 030064.

He may be wearing a headlamp or carrying a torch.

Do not approach him or confront him (he may be completely innocent, plenty of people out there trying to rescue or help cats), just call the police and us and let us deal with it.

Thanks
B & T

In India I have seen kittens and puppies have a tikka (red mark) applied to the forehead, just like with people. Seems to be done for various reasons; either reincarnation related (i.e. believing that the animal is a reincarnation of a person that died) or as a general mark of respect for one of God's little creatures.

I remember staying in a guest house in Jaipur, the cat had this red mark on it, the owner explained that his dad had died and this cat appeared the day after the funeral and went straight to his dad's old room and onto the bed, as if it knew the layout of the house and knew that this was its room. He consulted a priest who decreed the cat to be possibly the reincarnation of his dad. As a result they put a tikka and a little bell on it and it was treated with the utmost respect. It got better food portions than the people hehe

Unlikely to be the case here given Afghanistan is mainly Muslim. Maybe just some red dust that happened to stick.

Further update from SNARL 18 minutes ago

We are not taking this step lightly.

This is a warning for cat owners from Manchester down to the South Coast. Please keep your cats indoors at night until further notice and during the day if you can.

Pooboy is having a cowardly hissy fit, has run away from London where he was spotted and is now killing animals across a wide area outside of London.

Keep your babes indoors please and keep your eyes open for anyone interfering with an animal, but particularly a white male, in his forties, with dark brown hair, dressed in dark, shabby clothing, with no discernible accent.

If you spot this man interfering with an animal, call 999 and report it and also call us.

Pooboy if you are reading this, give yourself up before members of the public get hold of you.

Wow. Serious issues.

Not aware of SNARL or that there seems to be a hefty reward for the POS.
