Hamish been through the wars...not sure what happened to him but seems he may had gone under the car and burnt his shoulder on the exhaust, had a pretty nasty sore bit that wasn’t healing well due to him licking and scratching it so they decided to cut it out.

Awww bless Hamish. Hope he heals up and feels better soon.

I had a minor op on my finger on Friday (first op/anaesthetic and stitches I’ve ever had!!) Think I overdid the painkillers last night and woke up to a load of email receipts for various cat related purchases...

eBay should have some kind of parental lock enforced for ‘drunk’ people.

She’s of traveller stock. Came from a ‘site’ at just a few weeks old (too young to be away from her Mother, but I wasn’t leaving her there. Apparently she’s a Ragdoll Cross...

The one on the top is mine, his name is Lip.

Got him from a shelter where he was beaten by other cats and damaged his lip hence the name frown

I didn't know that.

We're looking for a female to join our 9 year old tabby Lola. Lola doesn't like other cats so much but she gets very parental around kittens so that's the route we're going down.

I'm turning into crazy cat man.

We aren’t planning any more kittens I’m afraid. As much as I’d love some.

Good friends have just rescued a blind Maine Coon kitten from being PTS by the breeder. I’m so happy (and jealous) for them. Going for kitten cuddles over the weekend hopefully. I’m going to get broody!

It’s all good. Embrace it.

I split with my wife in the summer of last year (this is relevant, bear with me)

My new partner had a cat. I still had the two cats that myself and my wife had got together. I gladly welcomed new cat (female) into my home and assumed that, after inevitable frictions to begin with, she would get on with my two, a boy and a girl (both of stray, feral stock)

To say I was wrong was an understatement. The new cat and my female cat loathed each other, with the latter mounting constant ambushes. The boy cat tuned from a lovely, if dimwitted, character into a drooling pervert who displayed an unhealthy obsession of getting close to the new arrival and just staring at her, silently. Very disconcerting. Things began to degenerate and soon there were little patches of cat piss around the house as both female cats signalled their anger and discomfort with the situation. It got the point where the house was drenched in piss - doormats, flat surfaces, my clothes, carpets, the works. My new partner was going out of her mind at the mess, and the obvious unhappiness displayed by her beloved cat. But it was obvious to me that we were going to have to rehome her and eventually my partner agreed, albeit very sadly

Around about that time (Late Dec) my ex wife mentioned to me that she would like to adopt a rescue cat. I steeled myself and asked whether she would consider taking my new partner's cat instead. She said she'd think about it and, a few hours later, said she would love to give the cat a new home.

So, rather bizarrely I found myself delivering my new girlfriend's cat to my ex-wife's flat. To say that the arrangement has been a success is an understatement. The two of them absolutely adore each other. The cat is finally in an environment that she always wanted (no other cats, no children, warm and comfy, no need to go into the horrible outdoors, and someone who played with her all the time). In return my ex got a really loving and charismatic friend. The two are inseparable. I get vids of the cat sitting on a stool next to her 'singing' along to her playing the piano, them eating poppadoms together, playing, watching masterchef, the lot. It's brilliant to see a cat go from being so miserable to absolutely loving life. And kudos to my ex for giving the little thing a chance.

That’s a lovely story with a happy ending. Nice to hear it’s all amicable.
