Thank you beautiful. Bader is unbelievably cool. He’s THE happiest, affectionate, contented kitten I’ve ever known! I’ve taught him to play tag and he’s hilarious. PD seems quite taken with him and it’s bringing her out of her shell as she’s quite shy/timid.

We’re ok. Think Mum’s doing better than me. I’m quite anxious about his funeral on Monday. Hope you’re all well xx
Hope the funeral goes as well as it can.

Good luck

We have now had Teddy (a rag doll) for 3 weeks and slowly introduced her to the current cat, Shadow, and I can now report that both of them get along fine.

We believed that Teddy was a boy but after going to the vets for the first jab, it turns out she is a girl. The idea was to get a boy as I heard a boy and girl got on better but we now have 2 girls so fingers were crossed.

Week 1 there was a lot of hissing from Shadow. She is only a year old but has obviously had the run of the house since she was 9 weeks old.
Week 2 and still some hissing and Shadow would stay out of the way of Teddy.
Week 3 and they have now started to play fight, play hide and seek and taking turns in chase each other through the house which has been great fun to watch.

Next set of jabs for Teddy in a couple of weeks then not long after she can venture outside.

Thank you. I’m nervous. Just waiting at parents for the cars now.

gr1340Teddy is beautiful. Do you live in a quiet/rural area? I’d be wary about letting a Ragdoll out. They’re sooo placid and road sense isn’t high on their agenda.

PD and Bader are now besties. I’m slowly introducing him to the others. Lebowski has hissed a little, bit so much Walter or Frida. Bader is just cool about it all in a curious manner

Well the final trip has been booked for the 23rd. After much deliberation I feel that putting her through the stress of medication, surgery and multiple vet visits just wouldn't be fair. It's not what I want to do, but it's what I have to do.

Given I now have my own house and garden, it would be nice to bury her there. It's a morbid and slightly strange question, but does anyone have any experience of doing so? Last thing I want to do it get it wrong and get a nasty surprise in the months or years to come.

Not a great day when it happens. We have had the vet come to the home. Less stress.

We have a pet cremation service nearby. They can do individual for those that want it.

A dear friend of mine has some of her cats ashes in a beautiful ring and a perfectly executed ‘watercolour’ tattoo portrait of him.

My Father buried my Maine Coon at the bottom of the garden 30 years ago and planted a shrub on top of him. Nothing untoward has happened. But I’m happy knowing he’s there.

I’m so sorry you’ve had to make this decision. And wish you many happy days and lots of love x

I have just buried mine today. Did the same with our previous cat.

This is a picture of Aslan the day we collected him.

We think he was about 11 then.

We wanted to give an older cat a home as they often are overlooked in rescue.

He was a sweet little boy and is much missed.

Thank you.

We do live in a fairly quiet area with a good size enclosed garden but the other cat does get out and wonders about, no doubt on/near the road but it is at the end of a cul-de-sac.

Sorry to hear and unfortunately my post is not a good one.

Unfortunately our Jasper was killed in an RTA last night. He didn’t come home for breakfast which is a bit unusual I left for work to find him lying on the pavement I think someone had kindly moved him from the road to there.

Gutted he was only 1 on September the 1st and it just been over a year since we had to get our Hamish PTS at 3yo.

Slept tight wee man.

Poor Jasper.

We had one, Murphy, who was the spit of him, who also died young of a RTA.

Sleep well, little one

An update on this in case anyone else is thinking of travelling with their cats...

I decided to drive in the end... and just do it in one hit to minimise travel time. I bought a 3ftx2ftx2ft cage and a nice thick cushion, which went on the back seat of my Touareg with a blanket over the top.

They were a bit stressed when I 1st put them in, and carried them out to the car, but settled quickly. I left Surrey 3pm Friday, picked my father up from our local train station, and we drove straight to the channel tunnel. We were in France by 6pm CET, Spain at a little after 4am, and at my place nr Marbella by 2.30 Saturday afternoon.

My babies never left the cage during the 1,443 miles/23 hour drive. They didn’t eat or use the tray I had jammed in the rear passenger footwell - they just slept most of the journey, cuddled up together. They were good as gold, and at no time looked or acted stressed.

We’ve been in Spain a few days now and they are gradually settling in. They have the run of the apartment, but I’ve not let them outside yet. During the day they mostly sleep under my bed, and then they belt round like maniacs all night. They are eating a drinking normally.

The drive nearly killed me, but I’m super happy they are down here safe and sound.
After a successful relocation trip, I lost one. Toffee, my small female, somehow escaped the apartment during the settling in period.

Despite nights of walking round calling for her and putting posters up around the resort there was no sign, and after 5 weeks I’d pretty much lost any hope of seeing her again... losing her was the one regret about moving down here.

Went out for a smoke last night as usual and noticed Waffle, her brother, hung over the balcony. Went to see what he was looking at and there she was on the path below. Soon as she saw me she started meowing. Rushed down, and after a bit of coaxing she came to me and I grabbed her.

She’s super thin, but otherwise is in good condition.... she’s wolfing food and water down like there’s no tomorrow.

Overnight, she’s hardly left my side, and won’t stop purring... she seems as happy to be home as I am to have her back.

If I lived near a busy road I wouldn't let my cats out. End of.
It's just not fair on them.
