Very good. Although Alien washing up and dishing up dinner while the cat sleeps lounging on a sofa would be more apt.

Help! A little kitten has joined our household, the poor thing was abandoned and should have been kept with it's mum. It's about 10 weeks old, and a holy terror! It's like a fluffy bramble bush, all teeth and claws, it's now begun to draw blood. I try picking her up, making purring sounds and attempting to stroke her, but this rarely lasts more than a few seconds. Poor blind Edward the Cat doesn't get any peace, and his food is constantly raided. I'm hoping the kitten will grow out of it, but it seems some adult cats stay...ummm...difficult. Any thoughts? I'm being driven mad. Mad, I say!
Keep handling but I am sure I heard that many feral cats without human contact in the first x amount of weeks can struggle.
Absolutely. Plus lots of play with her with toys. Also if she bites or scratches, make high pitched ouch noises. Helps them understand they are being a bit rough!

Pics please!

Edward and Miss Nemesis. Well, Minnie Pearl, actually.

M-P: "Ooh, a waggy thing, I need to bite!"

Edward: "That was my dinner!"

My youngest has gone to work, middle one taking his girlfriend back to Uni, eldest out with his boyfriend, so today I am mostly chilling in the Catio with my other babies who are clearly enthralled with my company...

My friend and I picked up a new sofa tonight. He moaned and asked why I keep buying tat (he bought a fridge at the weekend to store his Maggots in rolleyes). I love it. Unfortunately so do the cats...

I think something's wrong with one of your cats. Maybe feed it more?! biggrin

The Indian thinks he’s a dog and the Mexican thinks he’s a cat. They both dislike the American who isn’t keen on them either and constantly trying to start a war. The British has gone deaf and blind and just rolls over to do their begging.

Dropped my friend home and went in to see PDs kittens tonight. They’ve grown so much. They know me and were rubbing around my legs purring. Clara has the most gorgeous silky fluffy black coat and tail but wouldn’t pose for a photo

Bowie was happy to oblige. His Heterochromia is still strong

So these two are now booked to get castrated/speyed tomorrow evening since Mulder has recently turned into a sex pest with his little sister... rolleyes

They are roughly 6 months and the vet said normally he would wait until about 9 months at the earliest.

Any tips or suggestions to make things easier on them after the operations?

The vet said cones don’t really work with cats, which I can understand, he said they should be fine without anything due to the size of the incision and to just keep an eye on them and try to limit the movement to start with.

I’ve had a long weekend away at the coast and the neonatal fosters went to my boss for a few nights. They’re back ‘home’ with me now and doing brilliantly. They were apparently VERY vocal when away, but back to happy purrs and lots of kisses now. Will post some photos of their development later in the week.

In the meantime here are some others. Anyone would think they’ve had a hard day...

So what, if I may ask, is the best way to clean little (solid) accidents from carpet? At six this morning I had the dubious pleasure of finding Edward had left a few deposits on a nice newish carpet. Happily, most were of a throw-up nature. The current technique is to use a bread knife to scoop up the solids, Cif kitchen spray and a damp floor cloth to finish. I did have some Fabreeze spray to deodourise, but it's all gone.
I'm sure most of the sweet kitties on this forum would not be so indelicate, but someone here might gave heard rumours of this sort of thing, and the recommended course of action? Thank you...

I tend to pick up kitten accidents with a baby wipe, wash with biological liquid if needed then use a then use a mix of bicarbonate of soda and white wine vinegar to neutralise any smells. Don’t use any bleach based products as this won’t mask the smell and just enhance it. Febreze is a gimmick in my opinion.

Biological liquid, like you'd use for a laundry washing machine? If so, that would be a good idea, I might make a ip mix in a spray bottle.
The Dr. Beckman stuff either does not ship to here in Ireland, or shopping is very pricey. Thx folks.
