A Winner Is You said:
Went to the vets today for her jabs, this being the 3rd attempt since the last 2 ended with me not being able to get her in the carrier. So I cooked up a plan of feeding her in it for about a week, putting some chicken right and the back then quickly shutting the door. Only a very short drive but still spent the entirity of it Howling at the top of her lungs.

Then of course when she gets there she calmly sits there, let's herself be put back in the carrier with no resistance and is laying here like nothing happened. Because of course. grumpy

Yet you still let her lie on your legs hehe

No I wasn't just fishing around in your bag for a bit of chicken you dropped in there at lunch. And even if I was, you shouldn't have been such a messy slob grumpy

My cat was put to sleep earlier today.

He was fine this morning, ate his 2 (!) usual breakfasts, went out on morning patrol and came back into the house...and then started screaming. Got him to the vets sharpish and they diagnosed HCM (dodgy heart condition which led to blood clots forming and the lack of a pulse/blood flow in his back legs). Pedigrees are prone to this, apparently. Erik was a Norwegian Forest cat.

Could've gone for treatment but the vets (we went to a Feline Cardiologist specialist recommended) said that he'd never be the same it was in Erik's best interest it was to call it a day.

Hug your furry friends and look after them... they might not be there tomorrow.

My heart is broken right now.

Miss ya mate.

Several pint cans of Newcastle Brown, couple of G&Ts and a bottle of Jim Beam later... and it still hurts.

'Night Erik. Miss my boy.

It's a year ago that our companion of the previous ten years finally succumbed to cardiomyopathy. Boris lived more than twelve months longer than the vet expected, and he hung on until our son and daughter in law arrived from Sydney for Christmas. I still see him flitting about the house and garden just out of my line of sight - from the corner of my eye. Enjoy the (F)elysian fields Boris.

Thought i'd post a photo of my cat Mylo having a Christmas day hug with my daughter. They've got a special bond with each other, she picks him up all the time and plays with him like he's a teddy and he seems to love it, he tucks his head in and purrs, sometimes he sleeps. If the wife or I pick him up, he's doesn't give us long before he's off.

Had cats growing up but never one like him. He's added so much fun into our household, we are all smitten with him.

^^Lovely pic cloud9

Hope you are doing as ok as can be expected Faust. Hugs from us.

A question for cat servants everywhere. Does your cat have a fascination for laptop bags? Gomez has currently claimed the prize spot, but all of ours love sleeping on it. They actively come into the study to see if it is free. When it is occupied, they do look disappointed. hehe
