It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
This is Ozzy, sadly we had him put to sleep on Monday, just before his 19th birthday.
Diagnosed with kidney failure last autumn after losing a third of his body weight. Renal food soon helped him to mediate the damage but something started to cause issues to his head during March. He was unable to eat and swallow, almost lost sight in one eye and became painfully thin - suspected tumor but nothing we could do.
He survived a life-long heart murmur and a tissue-killing infection in his ear around 6 years ago (vet had written him off), so we count ourselves lucky to have known him all this time. We took him on from my sister when she was given him as a gift - despite already having 2 cats and living with my mother at the time who had 3!
I'm going to miss that face every dawn

r.i.p Ozzy!!
Above is cookie who came to us as a stray in 2008.
Diagnosed with thyroid problems last march her levels were settled so last Friday she went for a dental exam and possible extractions as she'd been hissing lots and her breath was really bad. Sadly she passed away under anesthetic. To say my wife and i are are broken is an understatement.
She was such a massive part of our lives 😞
RIP Ozzy and Cookie may the sun shine on all the beds and they be yours to lie on.
They both look great characters who had good lives in the fur-ever homes. Thank you for loving them.
I’ve read locally of a young cat who lost her life in a hit and run passing in a strangers arms today and have seen another post in fear of three kittens having been dumped (coincidentally on the road I work on so will be investigating this shortly).
Cats Protection League are reopening and we are now in kitten season. Please consider us if you ever decide there’s room in your home for another feline.
My foster Puss had her injections and FIV test yesterday (negative). She’s of good health with just mild tartar for her age (around 8-9) and will be advertised shortly for adoption. Best suited to an (older) adult only home with no other pets and preferably male only. A little shy at first but very sweet, placid and loving. She just needs a good lap and a comfy bed.

Thanks for the kind words everyone - still look for Ozzy all the time. He was a creature who lived his life depending on our schedule, so you knew where to find him and when. He also had some very strict rules we had to adhere to - it's odd being able to close the cupboard doors now.
Gretchen - rest assured we will rescue. Our dog came from a rescue centre and having given one poor pup a loving life, I cannot think of any other way now to find an animal to live with us. He was from Ireland, where they don't tend to keep rescues for very long at all.

Got the schedule miss badly. Cookie got me up, and pretty much herded us around as she saw fit! The kind words are appreciated, thank you.
The silence in the house is deafening without her. I miss getting trampled on as she makes herself comfortable.
