I love my dog, but he would still be in there to today, legend has it, looking for burnt food ....
That cat must surely have some kind of internal injuries and/or fractures? It just worked it all out right from the jump to the landing spot to leaving centre left for social media to be wowed by ...

Cats are pretty good as this sort of thing, my cat jumped out my window 4 up metres and was back up by the window few minutes later. If you watch they spread out to slow speed and they land of all fours, and the bounce is like parkour, dissipate energy.
Last year, our newest kitten managed to jump out of the upstairs bathroom window (he was about 6 months old at the time)
Landed directly below on the parasol which trampolined him onto the grass landing nicely on all fours.
I would say the cat above might have taken a life or two off his tally but would live to boss humans around for another day.

I stayed in an 8 story block of flats when I was young many cats fell from the balcony’s and most survived even some landing on concrete from 5/6 floors up. Remember my mums friends cat falling from the 5 floor onto concrete and that broke a leg and damaged some teeth other than that was fine.
Unfortunately also remember a few people doing the same outcome wasn’t so good.

I can’t bring myself to watch that video. Bruce climbing up the clothes airer yesterday because it was raining so I wouldn’t let him in the Catio was enough to give me palpitations!
We picked our new heated pens up yesterday. Well the bulk of it. The main kennel part was proving more difficult to remove from its current situ than first thought so this is going to have to be dismantled and rebuilt/sealed which is a shame but no other possible way out (unless anyone has a crane to hand?) Still excited though, this has double panel heated quarters at each end that have solid doors plus cat flaps to refit. Will have this all hardwired in externally, luckily all electrics, security lights (several more in the run areas) etc are there and in great working order. 18.5’ x 6.5’ in total around 8’ max height complete with sliding/removable Perspex screens. Original cost was in excess of £5k!!
There’s a front security reception and two main runs that will be built either side of this. I’ll furnish them with sofas, artificial plants, dig boxes and lots of climbing branches and stimulation.
Have also picked up these beasts to go either side as they relate to me and my other half.
And to finish a quick update on the other baby kits.

Our cat decided to launch himself out of the upstairs window when a small kitten about three months old last summer and my mother in law forgot to close the window after shaking a duster outside... I was in the garden and heard a small 'whump', a disgruntled mew and Snow dashed past to hide under his favourite jasmine bush.
He's not the sharpest tool in the box, bless him. A large puddle formed outside our garage last weekend and I found him standing in it almost 'knee' deep in water looking confused and pissed off before lifting two paws up, shaking them, putting them back in the water, lifting the other two, shaking them, putting them back, lifting the first two again...

Gretchen, what are the plans for the skunk kits?
I was telling a friend about yours and she said she looked after a de-scented male and it still had a very musky smell most of the time that filled the room….any experiences?
How do they get on with the cats? Would one spray if my male cat played too rough?

We are going to keep one and then have them both de-sexed. Have had a lot of enquiries for homes for them. There seems to be a waiting list with breeders!I was telling a friend about yours and she said she looked after a de-scented male and it still had a very musky smell most of the time that filled the room….any experiences?

Mum doesn’t smell. Ferrets tend to have a musky scent but not noticed anything from the skunks. Yet!
Tinks has met Daddy (Chihuahua) but not met the cats yet as had babies before she had a chance. Hopefully the little one will be introduced early enough they can get on... They should only spray when absolutely necessary non defence. It takes a few weeks for them to build the oil back up so it really is a last resort. There’s probably more chance of my dog peeing on one or my Bengal spraying before the Skunk. I hope.
