It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
Making her debut on this thread is Lila aka The Supermodel as she is very pretty but has a somewhat challenging personality. Now aged 10 she has mellowed slightly from when we first got her as a rescue cat, but still decides when she will tolerate us. She's quite a beast, her fighting weight is 6.2kg.
Showing off her shaved paw as she's just back from the vets, the next few weeks will be interesting as she has either inflammatory bowel disease (possibly treatable) or lymphoma (not treatable).

I'd forgotten how hectic kittens are, this is Ruby in one of her quieter moments. After 5 days from picking her up she has gone from what I can only describe as a true 'scaredy-cat' to having settled into the noises around the home.
Our 19 old Burmese old lady died just before Christmas leaving the place far too quiet, Ruby will be joined in two weeks time by another kitten a male this time to keep her company.

Gretchen, I hope you’re feeling better x
Following my hysterectomy last Tuesday, I was given a cat scan upon my return home & more nursing was diagnosed as being needed.

Thank you for asking, she is doing very well. She gets a steroid twice a day (this is my job, but she is amazingly tolerant for a cat who the vets will only handle in full leather gauntlets...) and is now on a diet of cooked white fish and special kibble which has had the proteins broken down. The treatment is the same for inflammatory bowel or lymphoma, so if she goes downhill on this treatment then it will probably be lymphoma. We have taken the decision not to have a biopsy at this stage - her brother went through a similar thing when he was only 4 and his last few months were pretty miserable with operations and liquid feeding.ali_kat said:

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Cats always seem go know when a convalescent can benefit from company.Gassing Station | All Creatures Great & Small | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
