I have three floofs inbound. Coupled with the two we have, two dogs, 8 chickens and 8 bantams, it's fast becoming a petting zoo here.

Huey, Dewey and Louie. wink

We're getting this house destroyer in two weeks. Name was going to be Burt, but it later turned out that the breeder had made an error, and he is she. So now it's Betty. hehe

Anyone heard from Gretchen recently? She said she was okay, but she's been silent since IFAIK

I haven’t stopped for a while. Work, boat renovation, cats, flying, camping, family and a fair amount of stressful stuff.

I have a young, scared, anxious new Mother with one kitten. Mum hasn’t eaten and I don’t think knows what she’s doing, let alone being in a new environment and the heat last few days. I’m keeping a close eye and making sure I’m helping stimulate baby to toilet.

Today is the first day Mum has finally had something. A few Lick-e-Lix and I’ve introduced some Chicken although not sure she’s touched it and just licked off the good bit frown I’m trying not to overwhelm/disturb her but I’m understandably anxious. I’ve spoken with vet nurse and will take her in if things don’t change.

Sleepless nights again at the moment.

Kitten opened eyes yesterday

Good luck Gretchen

That mother cat looks to be not much more than a kitten herself

She (I think I’m going to name her Pearl) has finally eating. My home made mixture of Chicken, Lick E Licks and crumbled moist meat sticks. I think I spend more time preparing her meals than I do my own!

Don’t think he’s got the slightest clue it’s his birthday, but it blows my mind, that he’s a year old already 🤯

We've had Garfield since April, and he's settling in nicely.

For the first 4 years of his life, he'd apparently been an indoor cat. But, actually he seems to like exploring the garden a lot. Although we're only letting him out there when we're around to keep an eye on him - as I don't really want him exploring beyond the garden (I suspect his road sense is pretty poor)

One slight irritation is that he likes to scratch at the carpet (despite us giving him lots of actual scratch things around the house), and also he's made a hole in the lining underneath my armchair, and often disappears in there for a sleep smile

Other than that, he's pretty much the perfect family pet.

In terms of the scratching. The only think I've every bought, that the cats scratch is this sort of thing. https://www.therange.co.uk/pets/cats/cat-posts-scr...

So if you've not tried them, give it a go.

He has a couple of them, plus a big scratch post... just seems to prefer the hall and bedroom carpet smile

Thing is, cats like something that doesn't move when they scratch it. Get a piece of carpet and carpet-tack it over his favourite scratching place and let him scratch that instead.

Cas is sleeping the sleep of the ‘safe cat’ finally, after just over 18m of living with us love

He’s no longer alert at every sound or movement; instead he’s so asleep even a stroke doesn’t move

I know Gretchen will understand this, but we didn’t realise how alert he’d been when ‘asleep’ until we see him like this sleep now he truly gets rest smile

Our lives have changed too, wallpaper is NOT safe frown
