It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
Funny how things turn out.
I was looking through some of this years pics and found some of Smartie who we bought last August. I do dip in and out of this thread - we have had some unfortunate deaths over the years and this thread has been epic in sharing and coming to terms with them.
Gretchen will remember our kitten who died on Xmas day in 2019. We also lost our eldest in 2021 to a fox or badger - we will never know.
Today we have 3 beloved cats who are RIP, and thats not bad since starting ownership in 2005. 1 went in old age, 1 on xmas day as a kitten with a heart issue nobody knew about and then our eldest with whatever got her last summer.
I am very careful with cat picking. Instinct is my main goto.
Smartie is half Bengal and our first male. We have had him since August 2021 and I am overwhelmed with him. His nature and personality is unreal. So mature, so calm and so switched on. He is only around 11 months now.

I've never had any of my cats do that to me. The nearest I get is if one of them (and it is only one) wants some treats, and then he'll start hovering.
One of mine even watches me put the food out, and then immediately goes out for an hour or so!
We joke that ours have a dinner clock that starts at 3pm.One of mine even watches me put the food out, and then immediately goes out for an hour or so!
Pickle (the calico) starts a regular, horrendous, wail and Jenson (the white tom) comes in from outside and collapses outside my wife's office.
This was yesterday.

I have heard that cats do that - just not any I've had!I fed the four of them at around their usual time (which was 10 minutes before posting).
- One was sleeping on the bed
- The other three were out
One's just come in and started eating. He'll be out again in 5 minutes (he normally spends ~23:30 hours a day outside in the summer; his record has been 25 hours in one stretch. I did know one cat that regularly visited my previous work who went out for months at a time - I found the owner's address and asked about him).
ETA: Make that 2 minutes. He's gone
We lost our one eyed Greek girl Callia last week, and our other girl is missing company, so we're going to see three tomorrow at Cats Protection. Has anyone any tips for managing introductions, to her (all three contenders are boys) and our three dogs?
All three have lived with cats and dogs before. Melina cat is five, and the cats being considered are two, three and seven.
