Unless it’s my wired cat Rosie who actually wants her tummy tickled.

Trisha got up to go to the bathroom, Smokey promptly stole her warm spot, and proceeded to have a good wiggle

If you get injured, perhaps you’ll need a cat scan biggrin

Daughters cat has come to stay , I feel a bit sad for the little lad as he’s a house cat as she lives on a very busy road in nottingham , I get him out with the lead on & he’s seems to love it , until it’s time to come in and world war 3 breaks out , will only come in when he’s ready
It’s a bit sad he can’t just do his stuff , but I’d not want anything to happen to him , he’s become best of friends with all the neighbours , they love him

Smokey cried and cried to go out last week, I put the harness on her, got 10 yards up the road, she turned tail and scooted back to the house, as if snow ever hurt anyone…

Lots of people do, it’s safer for the cat and local wildlife than just letting them out.

Well I never.

I haven't seen anyone walking their cat ever, mine just come and go as they please via the cat flap.

Many people who live in flats have cats and to make their lives more enriched take their cats out on the lead with a harness.

Sometimes cats get lost (fates unknown) and sometimes they get run over. When we had cats we never let them out on their own. Instead we had a large fenced in catio.

We tried our guys on harnesses but they hated it so we just have to chase them around the house for exercise laugh

Smokey was de clawed by a previous owner, we have raccoons, possums, rats and skunks in our neighbourhood, she wouldn’t be able to defend herself if she was attacked, so she’s an indoor cat who loves to go out for walks.

Anyone who declaws a cat should have their finger and toe nails pulled out with pliers.

Any vet that does it should have their license withdrawn.

Agreed. It's more common in the USA. Barbaric.

We adopted ours when she was 7, and up to that point, had always been an indoor cat. At the time, our place was on a main street, so there was no way I was going to put her at risk by letting her out - as much as I'd loved to have done it. We then moved to another place off the main street, but still within easy walking distance of it, so it was still a non-starter for me.

Next time around, I'm going to start with kitten(s) and get them used with a harness as soon as possible - ditto travelling in cars.

If I lived in a property that was sufficiently away from a busy road, I'd have no problem letting a cat out.
