My friend’s daughter told me me they’ve just got a Bengal kitten. I assumed they’d lost their 18 year old cat but alas their almost one year old had been killed in an RTA outside their country no through lane home.
I understand people letting their cats out but having lost one in much the same way as my friend mine remain indoor with access to their Catio and much enrichment.
Tonight Lebowski is looking after my pup post op

A local charity places them with us until they can find them permanent homes.

Understandably both very timid at the moment but I’m sure they will settle in just fine.
An update on our two foster cats Daisy and Duke. They've finally found a lovely forever home. Ours.A local charity places them with us until they can find them permanent homes.
We’ve had 2 so far both of which are now with really nice families.
Last night we had 2 new kittens placed with us. Only 5 weeks old they had been abandoned and were found in a bush.
Unfortunately the female had a really serious eye condition so the vet had no choice to remove it.
This is Daisy
And this is her brother Duke
Understandably both very timid at the moment but I’m sure they will settle in just fine.
There was interest from some people on a couple of occasions to take one of them but we really didn't want them to be split up as they are so close.
I suppose it was inevitable they would stay but its the right thing to do as they've made amazing progress here. From being extremely wary and not letting you get anywhere near them they're now super affectionate. I used to have to wear a thick fleece and gardening gloves before trying to catch Duke before he went to the vets.
We've not got 4 cats in total and our fostering days are over!

One of the litter, Esmerelda, also had to have an eye removed.
She found a new home quite easily
We have a cat-shaped gap in our lives this evening...
Sadly we had to get Tigger put down today - she had been suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, and despite medication and diet alteration, went downhill quickly this week.
Had a glass or two of wine to toast to her memory. Looking back on the good parts of her life: she was adopted from a cat rescue centre by the mother-in-law, who absolutely doted on her, then when MiL passed away we inherited Tiggs. There were some 'entertaining' moments integrating her with our existing two cats, a pair of boisterous males from the same litter, but the three of them found an accommodation. She loved getting the freedom of access to a garden at will via cat flap, and enjoyed nothing more than sitting on Mrs OH's mouse-hand as she tried to work
She got to 15 years, and it was good quality life, which is as much as we could ask for.
