New doggy dog alert!
She was part of a litter thrown in a dustbin in portugal!
A very nice polish lady who lives there and runs a rescue took all the puppies and saved them.
I think she is a lab/collie mix.
Malcolm-my jack russell- has been brilliant with her, she wants to play all the time and malcolm tells her off and she is submissive.
The cats have bashed her up a few times and she knows to stay away from them.
She is currently on my bed sleeping, snooring very loudly.

Her name?

Absolutely brilliant so pleased for both of you and how gorgeous is she .
She must be so pleased to be in a home and to have a companion like Malcom is just perfect.

if you can find the right level of exercise for a Dog it makes life so much easier. My GSD needs a good few hours in our Garden and then between 3 and 5 miles walk of an evening. If he doesn't get this he drives me insane
And for Pesty.

You should try using a clicker.

It can be very simple to do but I've seen it done and is VERY effective.

Firstly, make sure you have plenty of little treats handy, initially to get the dog's attention so it sits still!

You can start with a very basic task such as; put a tennis ball near by and get your dog to sit in front of you.
When the dog looks at the ball click the clicker and give a treat, and repeat for ten or fifteen minutes.

It takes a little while for the dog to work out what it needs to do to get a treat and the mental stimulation really wears them out.

Would one of these automatic ball throwers work? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csC8-RJpPMM
Great idea

Look how happy that dog is awesome clip

Although I suspect Jean wouldn't be smart enough to drop the balls back and if it makes any kind of mechanical noise Logan will destroy it.

By the way jeans barking at me to throw her toys again in between trying to dog though the sofa . Peace didn't last long

Sounds like a Russell terrier that occupies 5 times the physical space!
Lol yeah.
I have a couple of iFetch launchers, they are great but they do take a lot of 'teaching'..... I had to teach my dog to drop the ball into a big bowl which got progressively smaller.... and also had to de-sensitise him to the whirring and clicking sounds it made as he was a bit worried to start with. The only thing I'd say is be aware of the sounds and firing settings before you introduce your dog as once they have been frightened by it then it's hard to overcome (one of mine is terrified of it because the first time I switched it on I was holding it and a ball flew out, bounced off the ceiling and onto him). They are really great fun if you can work through that first bit though smile

We seem to have similar tastes in dogs. We also have a black working cocker, like Scooby

Picture of the two of them below, taken earlier in the year

Ok...Throw ball...no touchy...only throw.

And now no ball as feckless owner punted into the back field and it’s pitch bloody dark and currently resting in a hedgerow.

ETA - O yea! Sideways photos! grumpy
