Algarve, I really do feel your pain as we had exactly the same scenario with our gorgous white puppy....
Me too - we lost our greyhound boy Dylan to bone cancer too.

But well done for giving her good memories to erase the bad.

This is my dog, Happy.

She's 11 or so, I got her from a rescue place last summer. On monday night we got some bad news, she had cancer in her leg bone. Tuesday morning she had the leg off. Wednesday morning she was running around like there was nothing wrong biglaugh

She's pretty much screwed now though, highly likely some other sort of cancer will come back in 6-12 months. We got lucky in a way in that it was only a leg, and we can just whack it off with no real issues. We're not going to be able to do that next time. I feel like crying when thinking about it but realistically I'm not very likely to still have her next christmas frown . Oh well I just need to be positive and think of the good times we've had in the short time I've had her, and at least she got to live out the end of life away from the stty dog pound smile
Sorry to read this.

We had a flat coated retriever who lasted another 18 months after being diagnosed with cancer, so you may have more time than you think

Enjoy the time you have with Happy.

Looks a lovely girl and in the right place

Stay strong

We rescue Dogs and have done now for over 20 years sometimes all you can do is reflect on the fact the life you give them however short is far better than the life they had.

Oh noes, really sad to read the news, but she is so lucky to have landed with you and have the quality time. Adopting rescue dogs is a noble cause, we have one rescue lab but will definitely return to a rescue center when the time comes.

Meant to post a piccy as well.

Really hoping for some decent snow in the Lake District as the Western Fells are just really soggy and cold, so sticking to beach for now.

Self indulgent moment if you'll allow me please. 12 months without my apprentice painter. Miss him everyday.

Mrs. doesn't really want a dog at the moment so come here as often as I can to get a fix. Please keep posting for those of us that don't or can't have a dog right now. Especially Cockers wink
