Thank you, she is a Cane Corso
What size is she at the moment? It's nice to see a Cane Corso without its ears cropped! ETA - I thought there was a Mastiff in there but the normal ears threw me.

I've never had the opportunity to post in here before, but late-November we picked this little fella up;
Finley's now 15 weeks old and as silly as it sounds, having had him for less than two months, I don't know what I'd do without him in my life. Do feel like a kid again having a little sidekick follow me around everywhere!
Great photo of a fab looking dog.Finley's now 15 weeks old and as silly as it sounds, having had him for less than two months, I don't know what I'd do without him in my life. Do feel like a kid again having a little sidekick follow me around everywhere!
I think most who post on here feel much the same about having dogs.
Keep the photos coming, please

He's lovely, what is he?Finley's now 15 weeks old and as silly as it sounds, having had him for less than two months, I don't know what I'd do without him in my life. Do feel like a kid again having a little sidekick follow me around everywhere!
And yes, I suspect most of us feel the same way about our best friends

Hes really gorgous Steve, do you know what breeds he may have in him ?
Loved the rope vid btw, along with ghost of Charlie....
That was really spooky!Loved the rope vid btw, along with ghost of Charlie....
Bertie is about 40% Lab and 60% Std Poodle.. so he's huge, and seems to have all the 'EAT' genes from the lab and the 'EAT' genes from the poodle.
He is in fact a horse.... and not a small one at that.

Found spending all night in the woods. Apparently after searching all next day and returning to the car park the dog was waiting in the car park
Reminds me of when I was a kid, our dog went missing in the woods, miles away from the car park. We spent above an hour looking & calling for her. No luck, so we had to go home without her
Get back to car & dog is sat there giving it "I've been waiting ages, where have you been?"

That last pic is killing me
Humphrey had a degenerative issue with his spine (the name of which escapes me), his spine was crumbling and pressing on his spinal cord, he felt no pain but lost the use of his back legs.I think he was diagnosed at aged 9 but it was a gradual thing and looking back there were many signs of issues a few years before being diagnosed, we first noticed properly when he was unable to put his hind feet down properly; the tops of his feet would drag on the ground, causing bleeding.
Ultimately he lost the use of his hind legs completely and would pull himself along using his front legs, with his back ones dragging behind him, he moved around like a seal.
Due to not being able to move around much and not having walks or getting out, he got realy depressd and we talked about having him PTS as he had no real quality of life, then the wife looked into wheels, we bought a cheap set to see how he got on with them, it was a revelation, he loved them, people commented on how much better he looked and he had his spark back.
Humphrey also became a local star, he was "the dog with the wheels", kids loved to stop and chat and make a fuss of him.
Then one morning I came down, he was slumped in the corner of the hall, looking really uncomfortable (I have tears in my eyes right now, writing this), I put him out for breakfast (he ate in the porch as he couldn't eat and control his bladder at the same time), he started to pass blood, it was at that point that I knew his time had come, I was devestated, he was PTS that morning.
The vet reckoned he most likely had an underlying cancer and had, had a catastrophic failure of the kidney, but it was likely masked due to no feeling in that area.
When diagnosed, the vet said he wouldn't see 10, he was 11 when we said goodbye.
This was the last picture I took of him, the day before he was PTS

Thanks for sharing HTP99, that was hard to read even having never met Humphrey.
Just making plans for my first pup, hopefully confirm next week if I get a call and stories like this make me worry about the heartache.Though at the same time dogs are fking ace and I can't wait for the fun times they bring too.
/edit ffs I just looked at the picture with him on his wheels again and I cracked

HTP99 that’s really got me yours reminds me of a friend from work’s Pug. He also had wheels and loved scooting around on them. I think he made 13 in the end and he is very sorely missed.
We also have a Pug as well as our Corso and he is such a great little character, all bouncy and lively. I realise that time will come with him too and I know it’ll absolutely break my heart.

Humphrey on wheels was OK, he looked quite happy.
Last photo, got me
Yeahh, looking back, a few days up to that photo he wasn't his usual self, I took him out every evening on his wheels, sometimes it was 5 minutes, sometimes 30, it all depended on how he felt, but leading up to that day he just wasn't interested.Last photo, got me
That night, the wife wasn't sure that he was his usual self and wanted to take him upstairs with us when we went to bed; he used to sleep on the bed but became incontinent and even though he had a doggy nappy, there were still mishaps so he was moved downstairs, I said "oh he's fine, he's just having an off day", how wrong was I and I always think of him sitting alone downstairs in the hall at night, in the dark, not feeling great
Then you have thoughts; should we have had him PTS sooner, did he suffer and if so, for longer than we thought, it is so hard!
It is so difficult when they can't tell you!

She's now 18wks and about 26kg. Comparable to a small Labrador in back height but more muscly and with a longer neck.
Is she your first Cane Corso. What's her temperament like and how heavy do you expect her to be as a fully-grown adult? I love Mastiffs (I have some sort of Mastiff crossbreed) HTP99 said:

We can only make the best decision with the knowledge we have at the time.
