She's gone now, finally at rest.
She had a wonderful life, she watched over our kids as they grew, ran hundreds of miles alongside quads, bikes and humans. Had a little piece of Scottish hillside that she considered her own and hardly ever left and now she'll look over for ever.
If dogs were picking from a checklist of what they wanted from life, I reckon that'd be pretty close to a full house. 17 years of having a bloody lovely time.

This is Misty, and this is her last photo.
Just spent the last hour digging a hole for her at the bottom of the garden with Misty looking on and getting in the way wanting to help as usual. We're of to the vets in 5 minutes.
Good-by Misty, thanks for being a wonderful friend for the last 17 years.
I feel your pain.

RIP Misty

^^ This. What a lucky girl to have lived such a great life and been so loved. Run free Misty.

It's certainly gone "misty" in here.

RIP Misty.

My 2YO Shepherd has been desperate for a playmate and is over the moon to have someone as mad as him to play with. 1 week in and they're best mates.

Love those pics, we're thinking of getting another WHV as a mate for Oscar next year. He'll be 2 by then so it would be a good time to introduce a puppy just as you have done.

17 years is a long time to have a companion/friend but I bet it seems like a couple of years the time with them go so fast.
Dogs should come with a warning saying they will one day break your heart.
So sorry for your loss but memories get us through the hard times......eventually

We are away in Thailand, my daughter is in charge of Barry and Daphne (Daisy is at a friend's as the dynamic changes massively if I'm not there and it is the three of them!), they are just off for a walk:
