Can't offer any advice or experience, but I will be thinking of you and Fraggle and keeping everything crossed.

At least she is in the best place and well done for taking her straight to the vets.

Please keep us updated.

Somewhat concerned about our dog Fraggle tonight.

Since Tuesday she hasn't being doing a poo very well and has often asked to be let outside to be a little sick. This afternoon she did not eat any of her dinner (which has fresh chicken in it) and frequently wanted to go outside. She was digging in the flowerbeds and appearing to be sick in the hole before trying to cover in the hole.

I then saw her trying to poo again and went out to check what she had done (because I hadn't seen a proper solid poo since Tuesday). I found about two tablespoonfuls of bloody mess. So we rang the vet and ended up taking her in out of hours.

The vet said the blood wasn't good but because she seemed perky, good colour in her gums and obviously not de-hydrated he was prepared to let her home for the night. As he was preparing some paperwork she then dropped a LOT of mucous bloody mess all over the floor of the surgery from her bottom. I would guess about a good quarter to half a pint. Needless to say she is now in vet hospital where she will be monitored and on intravenous fluids.

It looks to be Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis which is treatable but I must say we are worried sick at the moment. She's only a small dog to have lost that much blood.

Update on Fraggle's progress. Apparently she's had a good night and is very bright and active this morning. She's eaten some food and her blood test have come back without indicating anything really sinister. They are keeping her in until she passes a proper poo - that might be a couple of days.

Fingers crossed........

Good to hear that she seems ok now.

I love the one ear up and one down.

Went for a windy hike with Arnie and tried out that relive app redback was using. Pretty nice way to capture a walk.

Arnie had a blast.

Cool, looks like a great walk. I really like the relive app...

Heh, a lot of synergy on the YT videos - cars, gaming, dogs...

Both your two are awesome Pesty, despite the handfull they present...

Are you pleased you went with a pair in the end ?
Thanks,

Apologies for long answer.
Dont apologise, I appreciate the depth of answer - particularly as one of the group saying 2 is better than 1....

With regard to Jean pushing Logan out the way for cuddles, I do think you need to make a point and put her down until Logan has had his attention. Our Millie was little like this, but not he velociraptor that Jean is, and I think you have to help Lgan prove his senior status....

Im not an expert btw.....but I do know how much work two can be, and your pair even more so.

Mark

logan's leg seems to be a lot better, hes hardly lifting it and no perceptible limp.

Edit. fk sake. He’s been asleep most of the evening had a fairly long walk today been building up last few days no noticeable deterioration . He’s just got up to go outside and he’s a tri pawd again.

trying out new camera apologies for spamming

Whilst I agree that it is a good idea to ensure that dogs get equal attention, I don't necessarily think you can impose a status between dogs. With the exception of Rosie (who really can't be bothered) all of the female dogs I've had have been 'in charge' even when they've been outnumbered by males. The males just seem to defer to them.

I'm saying no more! wink

Our two at the summit of Pen Cerrig-Calch this morning

Milo on the left is a 1 year old Cyprus Pointer rescue we have had since October. Holly on the right is a 4.5 year old rescue Rottie. We lost her adopted sister Lexy last year to cancer so decided she needed another buddie but couldn't face the idea of another Rottie or another female.
