I personally think that people should have two Dogs as minimum they look so happy together and always have someone to talk to.
Agree! We've always had two, but Bert the dog isn't calm enough yet to have a pal.
I have however, ordered a bigger car, which arrives in April
Bert needs to man up!
I am not suggesting people have to have more than one any good home for a dog is perfect as far as I am concerned. For many years I had three just two now and I am still surprised at how well they all got on despite being rescue Dogs and its just so much fun having two or more Dogs. I have two now rather than three because my last friend Billybob a wonderful Bullmastiff who passed away at the age of 14 is still in my heart 4 years later.
Before Christmas I thought we should do a DNA test on Milo to find out anything we could about the little lad. Being a rescue from Cyprus we expected some Beagle and some Cretan Hound, other thoughts were Lab.
DNA test came back this week and he's part Beagle, part Collie and part Samoyed! Rather surprising but I can see the collie around the eyes with the wrinkle now I know. I have no idea what the "fashionable" name would be, maybe a Beasamlie
We had one dog (Lab) for about 5 years and then got our second (rescue Lab) and it made our first dogs life so much happier. Indeed dogs love humans, but having a second canine pal really improved things. Especially if you need to leave them for extended periods, I just think they can cope better together. Obviously having three, or four, maybe five, is the ideal way to go. ;-)

Took two of ours to the Lake District over Christmas. Even seemingly managed to wear the cocker out for the first time ever (he's 4 now).

People talk about their "ideal garages" on here..... that's my ideal kennel. One day when I have the time.IMG_0784 by Chrisga, on Flickr

Didn't know you could do this. How did you arrange it, and what was the cost, if you don't mind me asking?Cati was a rescue from Spain. She is masquerading as an English Pointer, but she's 2/3 the size of my pure-bred English Pointer and has a number of personality traits that are definitely not Pointer (she has to keep one foot on the ground, for a start, whereas proper English Pointers can levitate);
It would be interesting to know what else is in her mix.
