Proud mum! !!!

My Neville won the CHUK (Hoopers) National Finals last weekend. 6/6 clear runs. (3 x 1st, 2 x 2nd & 4th). 4 runs I scored extra for handling behind distance lines - so bonus points.

Only our 3rd Hoopers competition, we don’t do many because agility is our main sport but it’s important because I’m an advanced instructor (so my students can see I may have a vague idea what I’m doing!)

Even my little anxious boy got a 1st place too!!!

If anyone wants to know more about Hoopers (it’s like agility with less equipment but more focused on distance handling) or find an instructor go to Canine Hoopers UK website. It’s great for breeds who can’t do agility or older/younger dogs smile

Stella was spayed yesterday. Still zonked out from the anaesthesia late last night.

Maple was 'done' yesterday too. Stayed in her bed yesterday evening but has been up and about a bit more this morning. I reckon she'll bounce back pretty quick, but we'll take it easy.

It's her (first) birthday on Friday!

Maple looks like she's coping better than Stella. smile

She was still groggy first thing this morning, but I popped home mid-morning and she's much better. Took a little food so at least I could get the pain killer into her. She's banned from using the stairs, but I live in a town house. She's stuck in the kitchen until I get home. frown
Never been so pleased to hear her bark when I pulled up - definitely on the mend.

Some food and rest and they'll soon be back to normal. Took maple out to toilet this morning and half expected her to do her usual "clear the garden of magpies and pigeons" job but she was happy to just stroll around slowly.

White fish and pain killer for lunch shortly!

All the best to Stella for her recovery.

I'm sorry but I don't get French bulldog ownership! It's a fashion dog with many health problems created by in breeding.
"The French bulldog has only a single short coat. which combined with their compromised breathing system, makes it impossible for them to regulate their temperature efficiently. This means the dog may easily become cold, and are prone to heat stroke in hot and humid weather."
Plus they are very ugly and generally short lived, 8 to 10 years. My collie was 19 when we sent him to the magic woods.

Lovely... rolleyes

Lots of breeds can have health issues and ‘very ugly’ is subjective, I think they are very cute!
There are plenty of ‘fashion’ breeds as you call it these days, don’t you have one?
Doesn’t mean they aren’t great dogs in their own ways.
Our frenchie coped fine in the 30+ heat in Croatia last week, sure certain other breeds would cope better but it didn’t stop us doing anything we wanted to do and he loved it.

I ‘don’t get’ why you felt the need to post like that in this generally very friendly corner of PH... it’s about posting pics of your dogs and not slating peoples choices or certain breeds. rolleyes
